The Sunday Mail magazine interviewed some parents about whether children should do chores at home. Different people have different opinions.

 Ms Miller thinks that kids these days already have enough stress from school. They do not have time to study and do housework, too. Housework is a waste of their time. They should spend their time on schoolwork in order to get good grades and get into a good university. When kids get older, they will have to do housework. So there is no need for them to do it now. She thinks that doing chores is not so difficult.

However, Mr. Smith disagrees with her. He thinks it is important for children to learn how to do chores and help their parents with housework. It's not enough to just get good grades at school. Children these days depend on their parents too much. Doing chores helps to develop children's independence and teaches them how to look after themselves. It also helps them to understand the idea of fairness. Everyone should do their part in keeping the house clean and tidy. The earlier kids learn to be independent, the better it is for their future.

      CCTV reported that every year Chinese people throw away a lot of food which can feed 200 million people for a year.

      Do we have too much food? Of course not. According to the UN World Food Programme, there were 900million hungry people all over the world in 2013. About six million children die of hunger every year.

     So think about it. We should say no to people who waste food every day. An old saying goes, “Every grain on the plate comes from hard work.” It tells us everybody must save food.

      Luckily, a number of people have realized the importance of saving food. Li Hong, a waitress in a restaurant in Jiangsu, once lost her job because she took some leftover(剩余的) food home for her son. But many people were by her side and criticized (批评) the waste of food.

      What should we do in our daily life to stop wasting food? We can do many things to prevent it from happening. Here are some tips:

     Don't order too much food in a restaurant. Only order as much as you can eat. If you can't eat all the food you order, take the rest of it home.

      Don't be too picky(挑剔的) about food. Some food may not be tasty, but put body need it.

Don't keep too much food at home, especially for fruit and vegetables.

    It's Sunday today. Mrs. Jackson was cleaning the rooms when her husband came in. "Go and cook lunch, dear," said the man. The woman had a look at the clock on the wall and said, "It's only a quarter to ten. We never have lunch before eleven."

    Mr. Jackson said, "There's a big football game on TV at half past eleven." After lunch, Mr. Jackson was sitting on the sofa. The game was nice and he hoped his team would get the gold medal. His five-year-old daughter Emma came in and put her hand on his face. "Oh, how cold your hands are!" the man said, watching the game. "Go and ask your mummy to warm them. "Why is it so cold, daddy?" the girl asked. "Because it's winter now." He said. " Why is it cold in winter, then?" the girl asked. "I never asked so many questions when I was small!" he answered. "That's just why you can't answer it," said the girl.

    Once upon a time, there was a strange bird. He lived in a tree near the bank of a river. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

    One day, one of the two heads saw a delicious fruit on a tree. He picked it and started eating the fruit. "It is one of the most delicious fruits I have ever eaten," he said.

    The other head said, "{#blank#}2{#/blank#}" The first head laughed and said, "You know that we have only one stomach. It makes no difference whether I eat it or you eat it. Moreover, I'm the one who found the fruit. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}"

    Later that day, the other head found a tree having poisonous (有毒的) fruits. He took a poisonous fruit and told the first head, "I will eat this fruit."

    The first head shouted, "{#blank#}4{#/blank#} If you eat it, both of us will die."

The other head replied, "Shut up! I'm the one who found the fruit. I have the right to eat it."
