Peter felt  very sorry because he forgot  to say “Happy Birthday” to his uncle yesterday. So he wrote   a letter to his uncle : “My dear uncle, I'm very sorry because I forgot your birthday. But to teach me a lesson, you'd better forget my birthday on Tuesday, tomorrow.”

    Mr. and Mrs. Smith live in a quiet village. Last weekend, they went to a busy city for vacation. Mrs. Smith was very excited, because she was a housewife.

    She stayed at home every day. It was boring.

    After they got to the city, they would like to go to the movies first and then have lunch at a restaurant. At night, they would stay at a five-star hotel.

    "Wow! The plan is so great. I like it!" Mrs. Smith said. Then they went to the movies. After seeing an exciting action movie, it was time for dinner. They went into a restaurant and had a lot of delicious food there.

    "It is a nice place!" said Mr. Smith. Then he put his hands into his pocket to get the wallet. But he found it was missing.

    That night, everything changed. They didn't spend a romantic time at the hotel. Instead, they had to go to the police station for help.

You can't see this school on any map of New Delhi, India. There are no desks {#blank#}1{#/blank#} chairs for the students here. There {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (be) only a blackboard and three walls. Rajesh Kumar Sharma opens (开办) it.

Sharma is forty-nine years old. He is from a family of eleven. No one in {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (he) family goes to university (大学). He opens the school {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (help) poor (贫穷的) boys and girls go to school. Any student {#blank#}5{#/blank#} Grade 1 and Grade 9 can study here. Now there are about 200 {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (student) in the school. They don't have a classroom, but they are happy in the school. Look! They {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (have) classes near flowers and trees now. 

Sharma often {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (tell) his students, "Study hard, and you can go to university one day." Mamta is {#blank#}9{#/blank#} student in Grade 9 here. "Our teacher is Sharma. We really thank him for {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (teach) us." she says.

Last week I went to an art show. A painting caught my eyes. To my amazement, it was painted by Steven, one of my {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. Then many things about him came into my mind.

Steven was from a poor family. His parents{#blank#}2{#/blank#}not afford to buy him some basic things that he needed. Once our school provided gloves for poor children. I put Steven's name on the list. He was so {#blank#}3{#/blank#} when he received a pair. He loved to wear them and they were always {#blank#}4{#/blank#} than anybody else's. 

Steven had a gift(天赋) for painting and he could {#blank#}5{#/blank#} understand what I described in class. But he didn't have money to buy the paper for painting. So sometimes, I {#blank#}6{#/blank#} him some. He parctised hard. And I often showed his paintings of the class. He was greatly {#blank#}7{#/blank#}.

One day just before the summer vacation, he came to {#blank#}8{#/blank#} some art books. When the new term began, he showed some of {#blank#}9{#/blank#} paintings to me. I felt shocked . They were very good. Then we talked a lot. He said he would keep on. 

Later he was admitted(录取) to a famous art university. After graduation, he had many difficulties, but he never gave up. He was always {#blank#}10{#/blank#} his best to improve himself. His hard work and strong mind led to his success.

My father and I used to climb the mountain near my house. Walking together, we used to talk much with each other. He always told me, "You should have goals like climbing the mountain." I really got a lot from the mountain-climbing time. It gave me chance to talk with my father. If we didn't climb the mountain, we couldn't have enough time to spend together because my father was very busy. I learned much from him. And it also gave me chance to think more carefully. What more, I learned to keep doing something or waiting for it for a along time. 

Once we climbed a very high mountain. It was so hard for me because I was only ten years old. During the first few hours of climbing, I enjoyed the flowers and trees, and the birds' singing; but as time passed, I got an ache in both of my legs. I wanted to give up climbing. In fact, I hated it at that time, but my father said to me "You can always see a beautiful sky at the highest place of the mountain, but you can't see it before you get there. Only there, can you see all of the nice things, just like in life."

At that time, I was too young to understand his words. But later after that, I got new hope and confidence. I found myself standing at the highest place of the mountain. And there, I could see the whole of the sky, and it was as clear as crystal（水晶）. 

There are many interesting and fun things at my school.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}On September 9th, we have a soccer game at three in the afternoon. It's interesting for me. In October, we have a school trip.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} I really like it.{#blank#}3{#/blank#}The English party is on November 4th. It's in our classroom. The art festival is on November 22nd.{#blank#}4{#/blank#}On the 15th, we have a book sale in the school library.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}This is a really busy term!
