Learning in class is a way for students to study. Students sit in the classroom and  {#blank#}1{#/blank#} to the teacher. Is this the  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} way for students to learn something? Of course not. There is another way to learn, that is, students can teach   {#blank#}3{#/blank#} .

      How do you teach yourself ? The {#blank#}4{#/blank#}  thing you must do is reading. Read something you are interested in,   {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  what you have to read. The second is that you must ask yourself {#blank#}6{#/blank#} . You can write down the questions. A clever student is usually good at  {#blank#}7{#/blank#} questions. The third is to answer the questions yourself   {#blank#}8{#/blank#}  thinking hard, by reading the text or other books, and sometimes by asking other people. This is the way of teaching yourself. And you must do all these by yourself. If you keep  {#blank#}9{#/blank#}  like this for a long time, you are sure to {#blank#}10{#/blank#}  in your study.

Students go hungry for charity（慈善）

    Students at New Point School enjoyed their breakfast today, for it broke a 24-hour fast（禁食） for charity. During the fast, they could not eat any food {#blank#}1{#/blank#},and they could only drink water, tea and clear fruit juice. The students all volunteered to go without food for one day to raise money for UN projects to help the poor {#blank#}2{#/blank#}.

Mr. James Wood, their English teacher, said, “The students {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the idea themselves after seeing photos of hungry children. They organized the whole thing. I'm very proud of them.”

    “Twenty-four hours did not feel like a very long time. Next year, I might even double {#blank#}4{#/blank#} I spend fasting. Then I can raise twice as much money!” said Jane Austin, a student. “It's so wrong for us to have lots of food while many people in the world are going hungry. We need to give to those in need.”

    The students collected about $2 400 from the fast. They were {#blank#}5{#/blank#} the total amount. “It's amazing! People are so kind, and they want to help others,” said Alan Long, another student.

    One day, I took my daughter to the park. As soon as we got there, my daughter{#blank#}1{#/blank#}to the swing (秋千) and asked for a push. When I {#blank#}2{#/blank#}my daughter, I noticed another girl trying to make her own swing {#blank#}3{#/blank#}high by herself. Her old grandmother was sitting on the chair nearby and smiling at us. Gradually, my daughter{#blank#}4{#/blank#} higher and higher by me. Then I walked towards the little girl. I asked if I {#blank#}5{#/blank#}a big push to her. She smiled and said “Yes”. For the next hour, I pushed the swings, and played with my daughter and the little girl. When we went home, I {#blank#}6{#/blank#}tired but very happy.

    One day two years later, after a day's work, I went to pick up my daughter before going home. While I{#blank#}7{#/blank#} outside the school gate, a little girl smiled sweetly at me and gave me a big hug. As I watched her running away, I{#blank#}8{#/blank#}that she was the girl whom I gave a big push in the park.

    So far, I{#blank#}9{#/blank#} her sweet smile and the warm hug that she gave me. In fact, if we give love to others, love will find its way back to us. It may travel from heart to heart or it may blossom (开花) in the heart. The love we share, the kindness we give, and the happiness we create{#blank#}10{#/blank#}back to us with a pleasant surprise.
