A man tried to catch monkeys to sell them to zoos. The monkeys were very clever and every kind of trick that he set wasn't successful.

    A young boy watched the man's {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (努力) and then took a pot with a small neck. He placed some corn around the pot and put much corn in it. He then tied the pot to a tree and he told the man, "We will {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(很可能) have a monkey in a few hours."

    Soon, many monkeys were happy {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(发现) the corn and the pot. One put his hand into the pot easily and got {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(大量；充足) of corn, but he couldn't take out his hand with corns out of the small opening of the pet. The monkey got {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (生气) and began to cry. Some of the other monkeys tried very hard, but before they {#blank#}6{#/blank#}  (做成) to pull the pot off his hand, the boy and the man heard the noise. As the boy came near to the monkeys with a bag, the monkeys a[l ran away {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(除了) the one with its hand in the pot. The boy put the monkey and the pot into the bag. The man was {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(惊讶的) and asked the boy the {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (秘密) of his monkey trick. "Why was it so easy for the monkey to get his hand in but so difficult to get it out?"

    “The monkey could get his hand back out if he let go of the corn in the pot, but he just didn't want to let go. So he {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (惩罚) because of that," the boy laughed and said.

     Confidence is very important in daily life. It can help you to develop a healthy a{#blank#}1{#/blank#}. A study shows that the people who are more confident are much happier. They can have more chances to make themselves s{#blank#}2{#/blank#}. But how to be more confident? Here are some suggestions:

    Speak loudly. When you are not confident, you can't do well what you want to do. You speak in a voice so low that other people can hardly hear you. Try to speak loud enough so that people can understand you clearly. The high v{#blank#}3{#/blank#}can help you become more confident.

    Play sports. Playing sports makes you tired but completely r{#blank#}4{#/blank#}. When you do sports, you will be full of confidence.

    E{#blank#}5{#/blank#}yourself. Write down a list of things you did during the day and see how many things you have done well. Did you finish your homework? Did you tell a joke that made everyone laugh? Give yourself praise for the good things you've done.
