Hello, everyone. Do you know the Spring Festival?I like it very much.On the Spring Festival,I often wear new clothes and have a big dinner with my family. In the evening,we watch TV and make dumplings.Most Chinese people like eating dumplings. I like eating them too. At night we go outside to look at the lanterns and play with fireworks(烟火)。It is very wonderful.

The Dragon Boat Festival

The Dragon Boat Festival has a long history (历史) of more than 2, 000 years. It usually comes in June. During these 2, 000 years, many traditions (传统) change.

Dragon boat racing (赛龙舟) is one of the most important traditions of the Dragon Boat Festival. People in the south and southeast of China usually have dragon boat racing on Dragon Boat Festival. Because there are many lakes and rivers in the south of China. The dragon boat is made of wood. It looks like a Chinese dragon with a dragon head on one side of the boat. It has a long body. There are usually 18 to 20 people in a standard (标准的) dragon boat for races. 

Eating zongzi is another important tradition of the Dragon Boat Festival. In China, almost every family will eat zongzi when the festival comes. Zongzi is a rice dumpling usually wrapped (包) in bamboo leaves, with different fillings (馅儿). People in the south like the salty one, but those in Northern China like the sweet one. 

During the Dragon Boat Festival, people usually hang calamus (菖蒲) and wormwood (艾草) on their doors. It helps people drive away the insects. People believe the smell of wormwood and calamus can help them avoid diseases (预防疾病). 

Spring Festival is coming. It's usually in February. It's an important(重要的) festival in China. The day before the lunar New year's Day is Chinese New Year's Eve, On that day , all members(所有成员) of the family come together and have a good meal. They wish each other good luck in the new year. 

'm Tim. Everyone in my family is very busy on that important day. My father, mother and uncle are going to clean the house together. My grandpa and aunt are going to help my grandma with the cooking. My sister and I will stay up late and wait for the coming New year. My family are going to take a trip to Xi'an during the Spring Festival holiday, but we can't go there because of coVID-19(新冠感染). So we will stay at home and enjoy the happy time.

Look! Qiangqiang and his friends are performing(表演) the dragon dance. Do you know the dragon dance?

During the Chinese New Year, we have a special dragon dance. The dragon is long and colourful.It needs about 12 people to perform the dragon dance. The dragon moves up and down, left and right to the music. People hold it up high and make it dance in the streets. It's like a big, happy dragon.When people play drums(鼓) slowly, the dragon walks slowly. When people play drums quickly, the dragon runs quickly. People think the dragon can bring good luck.  ▲  Let's enjoy the dragon dance and have a wonderful time!

Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year is coming. Xiao Yu's house is small but clean. I'm Amy, Xiao Yu's friend. I can see the "Fu" on the door. It's red. I can see paper cuttings （剪纸） on the window. They are red, too. I can see red lanterns （灯笼） in the living room. In China, red is a lucky colour. 

Look, dinner is ready! We have vegetables, noodles, fish, niangao and jiaozi. I'd like some noodles and fish. I can use chopsticks for noodles. They're yummy. After dinner, I get a red packet from Xiao Yu's mother. We read a story about Nian. We say "Happy New Year!"
