Since 2022, Super Brain, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} artificial intelligence（Al） company based in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, {#blank#}3{#/blank#}（create） digital avatars（化身） for more than 600 families.

"Technically, digital immortality（永生） is coming... which will enable everyone to have a virtual（虚拟的） online twin," said Zhang Zewei, co-founder of the Al company.

While creating digital avatars of those who have passed away, Zhang notes that the company has also helped over 100 clients（客户） in {#blank#}4{#/blank#}（make） their virtual avatars from their digital trails（痕迹） such as emails, photos and social media posts. The prices for the services can be from thousands of yuan to 10,000 yuan.

{#blank#}5{#/blank#} Zhang's clients are parents missing their only child, a woman wanting to say goodbye to her boyfriend who died in an accident, and a mother wanting to "revive（复活）" her husband to comfort their daughter.

While the idea might seem strange to some, Zhang believes that because of the emotional support the technology offers, those dealing with regret and loneliness following the loss of their loved ones {#blank#}6{#/blank#}（attract） to the technology.

However, he's still {#blank#}7{#/blank#}（sure） about how much of a connect ion that technology can offer. "A chatbot has no warmth," he argued, pointing out that these avatars cannot stay up to date with the latest information.

Tech experts and psychologists are also expressing worries. Wang Qiang, a psychologist in Beijing said that these "griefbots" could make people feel like they have a real emotional connect ion with the {#blank#}8{#/blank#}（die）. But in fact, it could make people feel emotionally and mentally {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（bad）, making it {#blank#}10{#/blank#}（challenge） for them to move on.

If you've ever used pi in math class, you probably used the number 3.14. In fact, the number for pi is much longer. Pi is called an irrational number (无理数) because the digits (数位) after the decimal point (小数点) never end or repeat.

In 2015, a young man from India named Rajveer Meena set a world record by memorizing 70,000 digits of pi. But pi is much longer than that.

On Pi Day ( March 14th) this year, a company called Solidigm said it calculated (计算) pi to105 trillion (万亿) digits. And the 105 trillionth digit is 6. It broke the record for how many digits of pi we know.

Pi is really useful for circles in math. It helps us connect the circumference with the diameter of a circle.

Even NASA scientists use pi for their work of studying space. But they only need about 15 digits of pi for their calculations.

Calculating pi also has another important use. It's how scientists test new computer programs and data storage systems (数据存储系统).

Solidigm's calculation of pi took around 75 days to finish. The company's owner Brian Beeler said that the achievement needed a lot of work. They had to plan the calculation very carefully.

This isn't the first time that Solidigm has calculated pi. In 2022, Google Cloud calculated 100 trillion digits of pi. Solidigm matched that in 2023.

In the future, we'll keep finding more and more digits of pi. We'll never be able to calculate all the digits of pi because it goes on forever. But it still helps us see how great computers can be.

School Gardens Could Help Children

①It's not always enjoyable for children to eat vegetables. But what if a garden is built in the school? New research suggests that a gardening programme in schools can help children eat more vegetables. 

②The study was carried out in eight schools. Each school was in the gardening programme for one school year. Every child in grades 3 — 5 received a total of eighteen 60-minute lessons across the school year. In the programme, each school built a garden, where children learned to grow their own fresh produce, like fruit and vegetables. 

③The study found that vegetable intake increased greatly if the children grew their own produce across the year. Related studies show that increased vegetable intake can improve health and cut the risk of some illnesses. What's more, increasing the kinds of vegetables children are exposed(接触) to may also make mealtimes much easier. "Children who are often exposed to different kinds of vegetables are more likely to try new foods, " explains Dr Kerry Jones. For children, growing their own food is a powerful tool to increase their intake of the food. 

④Any chance to expose children to more vegetables is meaningful. "If children are learning about vegetables at school, it's important for parents to encourage this interest at home, " says Jones. Parents can listen to their children about what they have learned and read the handouts they bring home from school. Parents and children can also read books together. Younger children can enjoy reading stories about vegetables with parents who offer useful messages. Older children may enjoy searching through cookbooks with parents to find new dinner ideas to cook vegetables in a delicious way. Besides, a small planter box in a sunny part at home can encourage children to understand more about where their food comes from. 

⑤Teaching children to grow their own produce is a great way to increase their preference for the produce. If children are taught to enjoy vegetables early in life, they will probably continue eating vegetables in the long term.
