At the end of the Spring and Autumn Period, there was a man named Gao Chai in the Qi Kingdom. Gao Chai was clever and kind-hearted. There are many stories about his childhood.

For example, one day, little Gao Chai and his friends were playing near a river {#blank#}1{#/blank#}one of them fell into the water. The other {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (kid) were shocked and very frightened (惊吓的). They did not know what {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(do) and there were no adults to help. Gao Chai {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(quick)found a solution. He picked up a large gourd (葫芦)and {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(throw) it to his friend in the river. His friend understood at once {#blank#}6{#/blank#}caught the gourd, which enabled him to float on the water and swim to the river bank.

Gao Chai's mother was often ill. When his father was out, the little boy would help a lot in the house, cooking meals for his mother and preparing medicine for {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(she).

After some time, Gao Chai went to the Lu Kingdom and became {#blank#}8{#/blank#}student of Confucius(孔子). He was neither good-looking nor tall, and he did not talk much. Even Confucius did not think he could be {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(success) at first. Luckily, Gao Chai had one good friend among his classmates whose name was Zilu. Zilu later worked {#blank#}10{#/blank#}an official (官员) in the Lu Kingdom. He was asked to recommend (推荐) someone to be a good government official. The person he recommended was Gao Chai.

My friend, James, has a dream, he hopes that one day he can have a trip to the  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(宇宙) because he wants to know what the space is like. He wants to be an  {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(宇航员). He wants to know the feeling of staying in an  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(环境) with no air. But he knows it is not an easy thing, after  {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(交流) with his father, he finds he has lots of things to do. He needs not only a good knowledge about space but also a  {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(强壮的) body. Now, he has a plan to realise his dream. First of all, in order to know more about space, he will join a science  {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(群; 组). Then, he will make a  {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(运动) plan. He has  {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (从不) been very active and he doesn't like playing at all. But this time he  {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(决定) to change himself. He believes that nothing is  {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(不可能的) if he tries his best.

I'm a teacup at an antique (古董) store. With the pretty look and strong body, I'm 1 . Many people want to buy me. 

2 , I haven't always been a teacup. Once I was just a piece of 3 . A man took me and rolled (翻滚) me over and over. I said, "Don't do that. I dislike it!"

Last month, our family had a trip to Shanghai Disneyland. At the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} , we tried the motorcycle-style trains(过山车). It seemed {#blank#}2{#/blank#} but exciting. After we got off,I still felt a little dizzy(晕的), so I almost {#blank#}3{#/blank#} . All my families had a good laugh. Later we went to the Fantasy World, we just sat there {#blank#}4{#/blank#} to meet the lovely characters such as Winnie, Snow White and Mickey Mouse. It was really an unforgettable trip, we will {#blank#}5{#/blank#} visit it again next summer vacation!

I was twelve years old and my parents and I were on holiday in Cornwall. They are both biologists and we all love nature. One morning, Dad suggested1 along the beach to a distant village.

It was a lovely day for a walk, but after an hour,I noticed some dark 2 . I asked my parents if they thought we should 3 . They smiled at each other, and then Mom said we were nearly there. Suddenly, there was loud thunder(雷) and it started to 4 . "Come on, quick!" my father said. "We' re almost there."
