China's 15-year-old Chen Ye won the gold medal in the men's bowl final of skateboarding(滑板男子碗池决赛) at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou on Sept. 25. 2023, 

Chen started getting into this sport at the age of 8. "I remember one day I went to a sports store, and by chance I saw a skateboard. I decided to give it a try, "Chen told China Daily. Although it was really challenging to stay on the board at first, Chen found it very interesting, compared with other hobbies. "Every time I learned some difficult skills, I felt the joy of making breakthroughs(突破), "said Chen. 

Gradually, Chen needed a better skate bowl for training. To meet the need, his father decided to make a skate bowl himself. "He gave up his job and worked on the bowl late into the night, "said Chen. "I'm really thankful for my father's support. "

As a junior high school student, Chen needed to find a balance between his schoolwork and skateboarding. His only "privilege(特权)" was being free from P. E. classes, during which he would do schoolwork because he needed to practice in his own skate bowl for hours after returning home. He trained in the morning, studied in the afternoon and sometimes had to have extra classes with the teachers' help. While getting ready for the competition this year, he trained for more hours at night to avoid interfering(干扰)with daytime classes. 

Looking at seven years of learning skating, Chen said this experience made him stronger and more determined to do something he truly loves. 

Wendy is good at English and Chinese，but her math isn't good. She doesn't think it's useful. 

One day，the clothes at Wendy's mom's store are on sale，so there are many people. Her mom wants to teach her a lesson，so she asks her to help out at the clothes store. When a woman walks in，Wendy walks to her. The woman says she wants to buy a sweater. After some time，she says， "I'll take this yellow one. What's the price of it？" Wendy says， "It is 800 yuan，but it's on sale. You can take it at half price （半价）. Uh，you need to pay （支付） 400 yuan. " "I see. This is my VIP card. I can get a 20% discount （折扣），right？" "Oh，yes，" Wendy says. "Then，you just need to pay 80 yuan. " The woman looks at Wendy in surprise ， asking， "Are you sure？"

American students have colourful school days. They usually get up at 7：00 a．m. from Monday to Friday. After breakfast they go to school by yellow school bus. They get to school at about half past eight. Students have seven classes in junior high school, four in the morning and three in the afternoon. 

Their classes are English writing, maths, history, science, PE, music and art.

At noon, students have lunch at school. They usually have some chicken and vegetables. They don't have a short break. They go back to continue having classes after lunch until three o'clock. After school, they do sport, like playing basketball or football with their friends.

Then they go home.Students usually watch TV before dinner. They have dinner at six in the evening. After that, they do their homework in their rooms. Sometimes they talk with their parents.

On the weekend, students don't have to get up early in the morning. 

They may get up at 9 or 10 o'clock. On Saturdays, they often go shopping or go to their grandparents' homes. And on Sundays, they go to a museum with their parents in the morning and have a big lunch at noon.
