This is a story of a man who works in my factory. I have seen him for years, but I didn't know him very well. He was a little bit weird (怪异的). He always wore an old red hat and carried a rubbish bag. He seemed to have no friend, and was always alone. He usually spent his break time and his lunchtime walking around in the factory and collecting used tins (金属罐). Maybe he was too poor, I guess. But I didn't care much about him.

One day, I was fixing one of the broken machines in the factory when this "tin man" came with his bag. As usual, he picked up the tins, which were all around the place. My manager was standing there, watching me.

When I finished my job, I heard my manager ask the "tin man" about what he was going to do with those tins he had collected. I never even thought about this kind of question, because I always assumed that "tin man" would take those tins to the recycling center.

Unexpectedly, the "tin man" answered, "I will give these tins to my neighbor. He has been ill for many years and cannot work. He is too poor to buy daily bread now."

I was so shocked to hear that, so I asked him, "You mean you collect all those tins just to help your neighbor?"

"I know this does not help much," he said. "But I give everything to him, because he cannot work. He needs help."

It was the most beautiful moment in my life. We are all able to help others no matter we are rich or poor. It has made me feel humble (谦卑的) every day since then.

Just a few days after his 18th birthday, Beijing 2022 gold medal winner Su Yiming received a surprise gift—a letter from Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China.

In the letter, Xi expressed his congratulations(祝贺) to Su and other sportsmen in ice and snow sports for their great achievements(成就) at the Beijing Winter Olympics, hoping what they had achieved would encourage young Chinese to aim(立目标) high.

When Su first stepped onto a snowboard at the age of four, a future as a world-class sportsman seemed to be" a dream too big" for him. Little did he know that he would not only compete for his country but also take home the gold medal. With the great excitement of winning an Olympic gold medal still fresh in his mind, Su wrote a letter to the president, telling him how lucky he felt to have made his dream come true.

Su still remembers what Xi wrote in the reply," The new era is the time for young people to realize their dreams."

"I have always kept those words in my mind," Su said.

"When I made up my mind to be a professional (职业的) snowboarder, I know there is a big difference between my performance and that of the top sportsmen in the world. But I have been working hard to realize my dream. Now my story shows the fact that hard work will pay off." Su said.

Su believes the sky is the limit." Find the thing you love, believe in yourself and do your best. Finally, your dream will come true."

Now Su has his strong wish to win all the competitions in his sporting field.

Sally is an 8-year-old girl. She likes 1 very much. She thinks they are people's friends. Of all the animals, pandas are her favorite because the panda is one of 2 , and she goes to the zoo to see them every month.

One Sunday afternoon, Sally goes to the zoo with her parents by bus. When they3 there, she runs to the pandas' house quickly. There are two pandas in the zoo. They are Lucy and Lily. She is happy 4 them every time.

But when Sally gets to the pandas' house, she sees lots of people talking in front of the house. And it's kind of 5 . "What's wrong with the pandas?" Sally asks anxiously(焦急地).

"Oh! Don't worry(担心), little girl. The pandas are 6 ," an old woman answers.

Then Sally looks into the house. Lucy and Lily are in the house. They 7 with a ball. And she also finds another panda in it.

"He's Peter. He 9 another zoo," a man in uniform(制服) says. "Next year, you may see a small panda here."

"A small panda! I love that," Sally says 10 ．

On the evening of July 31, 2024, a great moment happened at the swimming event of the Paris Olympics(巴黎奥运会）. Pan Zhanle, a Chinese swimmer,won the gold medal in the men's 100-meter freestyle.

Before the competition, the Chinese team faced a lot of pressure(压力). The past results were not very good and there were many doubts from outside. But Pan Zhanle was brave and ready to fight.

When the race started, Pan Zhanle jumped into the water quickly. In the first 50 meters, he showed strong power and took the lead. His strokes were powerful and his breathing was regular.

In the second half of the race, it became very exciting. Other swimmers tried hard to catch up, but Pan Zhanle kept his lead with great skills and strong will.

Near the end, everyone was very nervous. Pan Zhanle swam as fast as he could and touched the wall with a wonderful time of 46. 40 seconds.He broke the world record and won the gold medal.

After the race, Pan Zhanle was very excited. He said in an interview,＂There were some unfriendly situations before, but they made me more determined.5. I wanted to show the strength of Chinese swimmers! "

Hello! My name is Ye Ying. My favourite subject is maths. For some students, maths is boring. But for me, it's really interesting {#blank#}1{#/blank#} I can have great fun in class. 

Mr Qiao is our maths teacher. It is Monday today and we have a(n) {#blank#}2{#/blank#} class in the morning. At 8:30 a. m. , Mr. Qiao comes into the classroom with {#blank#}3{#/blank#} "clock". "Look{#blank#}4{#/blank#} the ‘clock'. It's {#blank#}5{#/blank#}, right? Now I want you to draw a ‘clock' like this, but it's different from mine, " he says to {#blank#}6{#/blank#}. We all think it is easy and start to do it. We {#blank#}7{#/blank#} different "clocks" in class. 

Mr Qiao{#blank#}8{#/blank#} these clocks to help us learn maths. And he thinks all of us do very{#blank#}9{#/blank#}, so he praises(表扬)us. Then the class ends at 9:20 a. m. 

We have five maths {#blank#}10{#/blank#} a week, three in the morning and two in the afternoon. We're happy to see Mr Qiao every school day.
