Julie grew {#blank#}1{#/blank#}in Guangzhou. Last year, she moved to Harbin. She also experienced the heavy snow there. 

It was Sunday yesterday. In the afternoon,there was a strong wind and  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} were getting together in the sky. It seemed there would be a heavy snow.

At around seven o'clock,it {#blank#}3{#/blank#}to snow. At first, it snowed lightly. Then it snowed heavily. At ten o'clock,Julie went to bed. She couldn't sleep for about two hours. She was thinking about the snow."A snowstorm is coming,"she said to {#blank#}4{#/blank#} .Suddenly, a strong wind blew and the windows were broken. The floor was full of glass. Julie lived {#blank#}5{#/blank#}so there was no one to help. What great trouble she was in!

Julie had to call the police. When the police arrived,they helped Julie to repair the windows. And luckily,the snow wasn't so heavy as Julie expected. It soon stopped completely.

"Today, Niki will clean the floor,"our mother said. It was time to do our weekly housework. Our mother already had everything planned.

I started to sweep the floor. My brother Ben took the detergent(洗衣粉) to clean the windows and my sister Sarah took out the iron(熨斗). All of us had something to do. However, as I was not good at cleaning, I did not do a good job. In the end, my mother had to clean the floor again. Ben was clumsy(笨拙的 ). He splattered(泼溅 ) the detergent all over the floor and the sofa. My mother was exasperated. She decided to take over. Sarah was the only one who was doing a good job. She ironed one piece of clothing after another. However,she was ironing my mother's dress when her favorite advertisement came on television. Putting down everything, she watched the advertisement for a new toy carefully. She did not notice the smoke coming from the iron until she heard our mother shouting.

Our mother was so angry that she took over the ironing, too.

Finally, we watched TV and ate potato chips. Mom said we were not good at housework. However, we knew that she would ask us to do housework again the next time.

It was Lisa's seventh birthday. She received a special gift from Uncle To by. It was a box of little ducks. Lisa was very excited, because she was looking forward to playing with little ducks.

Lisa tried to carry the box to her garden. However, the box of ducks was heavy and she dropped it. The box fell to the ground and broke. The ducks all ran out. They ran everywhere—into neighbours' gardens, into the field, even into the next street. Lisa spent hours trying to find them and took them back to her garden.

Then she called her uncle and told him about the little accident.

"Did you find them all?" her uncle asked.

"I hope so," Lisa replied. "I caught ten of them."

"That's very interesting," her uncle said with a smile, "because I only sent you eight."

Life is full of unexpected surprises. Paul was 71 years old and came from England. He liked using a 3D printer to make models.

One day, while Paul was searching for something online, he saw a red car on a website. It was his father's favorite car made in the 1950s. He felt so shocked!

The car brought Paul back to the "good old days". When he was a child, his dad always drove him around London. He sat in the back seat of the red car excitedly. When he went abroad to work, this car took him away from home to say goodbye to his father. To his surprise, many years later, the car showed up online!

Paul decided to buy the car. With his son's help, he bought it. It was a really difficult job to repair the car because it was old and broken. But Paul didn't give up. He spent a long time repairing it. After he tried many times, he finally made the car as good as it used to be with the 3D printer. Paul drove it here and there.

Paul said driving the old car reminded him of his father. The car was seen as a connection between his father and him. It was a treasure for him from the past.

Nancy is one of my {#blank#}1{#/blank#} friends. We are {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Class 1 Grade 8. She is the {#blank#}3{#/blank#} girl in our class, about 1.64 metres. She is slim and {#blank#}4{#/blank#} long hair.

Nancy is humorous. she can tell funny {#blank#}5{#/blank#} and often makes us laugh. We never feel {#blank#}6{#/blank#} with her. She is helpful, too. And she is ready {#blank#}7{#/blank#} others anytime. I'm not good {#blank#}8{#/blank#} English and she often helps me with my English.

Nancy is a true friend. When something {#blank#}9{#/blank#} me, I can always go to her. I can tell her anything because she can {#blank#}10{#/blank#} a secret.
