Rob Frenette, a Canadian boy, was often bullied (被欺凌) at school. He was often lonely and scared. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} He walked into a newspaper office and told them about the bullying. His story went into the newspaper, and soon all the TV stations in Canada wanted to talk to him about his experiences. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}

In his free time after school, Rob helps other people with bullying problems.With his friend Kate, he set up the website www. bullyingcanada.ca. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} When people are upset, they can talk on the phone or online to Rob and his team.

Every weekend, Rob answers e-mails from people who have been bullied at school. He also speaks to children and teachers around Canada about bullying. Rob's most important message is: "{#blank#}4{#/blank#}So keep trusting yourself. And remember that there are people who care about your problems. You just have to find those people."

One of Rob's ideas is "Blue Day", a special day that works to stop the problem of bullying in schools. On that day, students have to wear blue clothes, and in class, they learn how to stop bullying from happening. More than 150 Canadian schools now celebrate Blue Day. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}

My favorite thing from childhood is a doll. I 1 it from my aunt on my 5^th birthday. 2 then it has been always on my bed and I can't go to sleep 3 kissing it at night. When I went to a boarding school, I took it with me. My roommates (室友) used to 4 at me about it, but I still kept it beside my pillow (枕头). 

I love it so5 because it gives me comfort (安慰) whenever I feel bad. 

Sam and his friend, Bob, both entered a painting competition. Bob won the {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(one)prize!

When Sam got home, he told Papa, "I worked hard on my picture. I wanted to win." "You did," said Papa. "And {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(you) is a fine picture." Mama hugged Sam and said, "I hope you congratulated Bob." Sam {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(shake) his head, "Bob was too busy getting his photo taken." Then he went to his room. He felt like doing nothing. He got very bored soon. He wondered {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Bob was doing. He remembered the fun they had together. He decided to do something. He took out his painting tools {#blank#}5{#/blank#} some paper. He painted a picture with a ship in it. Under the ship, he printed in big {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(letter):C-O-N-G-R-A-T-U-L-A-T-I-O-N-S! That was the {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(big) word he knew.

Sam gave the picture {#blank#}8{#/blank#} Bob. "Thanks," said Bob. "I love ships. What is {#blank#}9{#/blank#} big word?" " Congratulations," said Sam.

"Wow!" said Bob {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(happy). "This is much better than getting my photo taken."

Friendship is much better than winning, isn't it?

①Aarrav Anil, a 13-year-old boy, has had a deep interest in mechanics (机械学) since childhood. He invented a smart spoon and stood for India to attend an international competition last year. In the competition, he won the first prize. But he didn't create his smart spoon to win a prize. He noticed his uncle who has Parkinson's disease (PD) (帕金森病) try to feed himself. Food kept falling out of his mouth, making him look like a mess. Aarrav wanted to make a change.

②More than 7 million people in India have PD. The disease influences the brain, causing patients to shake uncontrollably. As the disease progresses, it leads to difficulty in eating by oneself.

③Aarrav wanted his uncle to be able to eat by himself. This encouraged the boy to look for a way to help his uncle. So he took tools to his room with sensors (传感器) and a 3D printer. But not everything went well.

④"I was sad that I couldn't find certain parts I needed in India. I had to buy some from abroad." Aarrav said in an interview.

⑤Aarrav made a first model, but the spoon handle was not easy for his uncle to hold. "I've improved the invention. It needs to be waterproof (防水的). The spoon must be easily separated, so that it can be cleaned and replaced with a fork. And the spoon needs to be deeper to hold more food." the boy said.

⑥The smart spoon is now being tested at a local college. The test is expected to be completed in early 2025. Aarrav hopes that his smart spoon will be used in hospitals soon.

 People have told stories about Robin Hood for more than 700 years. Nobody knows if he was a real person or an invented character. In the legends(传说), Robin was quite smart and had a playful sense of humour. He loved playing jokes and tricks on people.

"Pick a card, any card!"

 The stories say that Robin Hood was a skilled archer(弓箭手) and he always carried a bow and arrow.

"Ha ha, too easy!"

 He wore green clothes and a hat with a green feather. He lived in Sherwood Forest with a group of outlaws(逃犯), known as his‘Happy Men'. The group included Friar Tuck, "Mmm. yummy!" Little John, who was unusually tall, "Little is just my nickname!", and Robin's true love, Maid Marian. "Take that!"

 Sherwood Forest was a royal(皇家的) hunting forest near Nottingham in England. Most people thought that forests were dangerous places to go. People travelling through the forests were often robbed by outlaws.

"Your money, please, my Lord!"

"Oh no, it's Robin Hood!"

 The stories say that Robin Hood only took money from rich people so that he could give it to people who needed it. So he became famous for‘robbing from the rich and giving to the poor'.

"Here you are, my dear."

"Oh, thank you, Robin!"

 The Sheriff(郡长) of Nottingham was Robin's arch-enemy. It was the sheriff's job to keep the woods safe and to make sure that nobody stole the king's deer.

"What's that? Is that Robin Hood?"

 The Sherlff of Nottingham tried to catch Robin Hood, but never succeeded.

"Oh no, not again!"

 Centuries ago people loved to tell each other stories of Robin Hood. Later he became a famous character in books, and nowadays Robin is still a well-loved hero in books, theatre, TV and films.

One day, I went to the store to pick up the next week's food. I had something important to do so I had little time and Ihad to put off shopping for Christmas presents until later in the month. 

When we arrived there, I gave my son a dollar and asked him to give it to a poor man at the door of the store. We  went  in  and  soon  filled  our  cart(购物车)  with  food. Then we walked towards the self-checkout machines(自主结账收款机). I hated using them. I preferred to chat with the friendly cashiers(收银员), but there were too many people waiting there. As I stopped and waited, though, I heard  a  man  at  the  machine  next  to  mine  saying  something  angrily. Every time he put his old, wrinkled(起皱褶的) twenty-dollar bill into the machine, it spit out  （吐出）the bill. I quickly took a newer twenty-dollar bill out of my wallet and gave it to him. He thanked me with a warm smile and paid for his goods. I told him to keep his money but he insisted(坚持) that I should take his old, wrinkled twenty-dollar bill. I agreed, put it in my coat pocket, and wished him a Merry Christmas. 

After checking out, I remembered the saying, "Help one person at a time, and always start with the person nearest you. " I reached into my pocket, smiled, and went outside. Then I gave that wrinkled twenty-dollar bill to another poor person and walked to my car happily. 

In my opinion, we should change the world with our love. It is easier than it looks, too. Just start with the person nearest you.
