It is increasingly popular for Chinese youngpeople to share their experiences on social media (媒体), such as the"moments"(朋友圈)on popular instant messagingservice WeChat. "I have been reading 'JaneEyre' for 40 days with 48,000 words finished Li Anqi said. Li has beensharing her reading experience on WeChat moments every day since January.Working in Yinchuan, capital of Northwest China? s Ningxia, Li wants to learnEnglish very much, but cannot get rid of (摆脱)theeveryday work of school lessons.

    "I found many of my WeChat friends hadbeen reading books or learning English on mobile reading apps, and I did notwant to fall behind," Li said.

In January, she spent more than 100yuan buying an online reading class at the Bohe Reading app, which tellscustomers they can: "Finish reading your first English book here."

Love, joy and the warm feeling of getting together don't cost a thing. But gifts do cost money. So what should a poor family do?

When I was 10, I told my mother that the only thing I wanted for the New Year was a pogo stick (弹簧单高跷). However, my mother said it was so expensive that we couldn't afford one.

On a Saturday before New Year, my family went shopping together. While my mother and I were picking out the gifts, my dad said, "I'll be back soon-I need to see something in the tool area." A moment later, he came back with a long box. I remembered wondering if there was a pogo stick in it.

When we arrived home, my dad put the box in the garage. While my parents were busy with their chores, I quietly walked out to the garage and found the box. I was so excited and I knew as soon as I opened that magical box, my bright, shiny pogo stick would appear. No such luck! Inside the box was a silly old broom (扫帚).

That New Year morning, I got some gifts like a tiger toy and a saving pot, but I didn't get the present that I really wanted. How upset I felt at that moment though I didn't want my parents to see!

After cleaning up the room, my dad went to the garage. When he came back, he was carrying a beautiful pogo stick. I couldn't believe it! My parents probably got quite a laugh from the trick they played on me.

Although we didn't have much money, my parents gave me the most important gift of all: lots of love. That was over 60 years ago and I still think about those wonderful memories. They were full of my childhood. I will never forget all the joy my parents brought into my life.

The boy wants to go out to fly a kite. But his father does not agree{#blank#}1{#/blank#}him because the rain is coming. So he asks his mom whether he can fly the kite indoors. His mom doesn't agree. The boy is sad. And then he asks whether he can watch TV for a while. Luckily, his mom finally agrees {#blank#}2{#/blank#}the idea.

Should friends be different or the same? Different people have different ideas. The following is what four of my classmates say.

My name is Claire. I am outgoing. I like to have friends who are similar to me. Both my best friend Linda and I like traveling. We went to Italy with our families last summer vacation. We stayed there for two weeks. Next year we want to go to Paris.

My name is Mary. I like to have friends who are different from me. My best friend Betty is shorter and more outgoing than me. I am quiet and I like reading very much. Betty likes sports and she plays badminton well.

I'm Peter. I like to have friends who are like me. It can be very helpful. I'm a little quiet and my good friend Rick is quiet, too. Sometimes I don't know what to do with my problems and he can tell me what I should do, because he knows about me better than people who are different from me.

I'm Bill. I have both kinds of friends. I think it is important. That makes my life more interesting.

My two best friends Stacy and Priscilla are different in some ways. Stacy is very tall and likes music. She's good at 1 . Her classmates and I like to listen to her songs. Priscilla is 2 shorter and likes nothing about music. She always says she3 understand why Stacy likes it. But they also have something in common. 

First, they are smart: Stacy is very hard-working and does 4 good job in a hospital. Priscilla, however, is thinking about going on learning abroad. She wants5 how the teachers teach in a foreign country.

I love my grandparents very much. Every weekend, I go to visit them after {#blank#}1{#/blank#} my homework. The house is small, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} it is very clean and tidy. I often help them sweep the floor and water the flowers. Grandpa always reads me funny {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. He makes me laugh a lot. Also, grandma {#blank#}4{#/blank#} cakes for me. We often sit in the garden and chat（聊天）together. Grandma always has something for me in {#blank#}5{#/blank#} bag, like a cookie（曲奇饼）or a small candy. She says, "This is for my sweet grandchild!"

I love my grandparents and we have so much fun. I can't wait to visit them again.
