Seba Stephens is only 10 years old, but he's a very talented musician. He plays drums, bass, guitar and piano. Recently, he got a professional certificate (证书) in music through the Berklee Online program at the famous Berklee College of Music.

Seba and his family live in Memphis, Tennessee-a place famous for music. He grew up with music all around, but he especially loved the drumming of Stewart Copeland from the band The Police. "The songs of The Police are full of so much cool drumming (鼓声)." he says.

Before he turned three, his parents asked him what he wanted for his birthday. "Drums!" he answered.

His parents weren't sure, but after seeing him play the drums at a local music store, they decided he was serious. They bought him a junior drum kit (成套装备). It was a huge step. "He didn't stop playing-ever." says his dad. Everett.

But soon Seba grew upset. He couldn't get his junior drum kit to make the sounds he heard Mr. Copeland making. It was a lesson for the family: good instruments were worth paying for. His parents bought him a professional drum kit and signed him up for lessons.

In just a few months, a drummer, his drum teacher reported that Seba was learning very quickly and needed a higher level of training. He was still four.

He faced challenges-because of his size. "I couldn't see over my drum set," he says. "And I couldn't reach some of the cymbals (铙钹，打击乐器名)." He also had trouble finding a good bass that was small enough.

Seba wanted to start a band, but Everet said he had to "at least be in kindergarten (幼儿园)" to do that. Everett thought he was joking, but Seba actually started a band in kindergarten. By the first grade, he was making money playing music.

April 22, 2024 marks the 55th World Earth Day This year's theme is "Planet vs. Plastics". There are about one million waste plastic bottles produced by us every minute, and people use more than 570 million plastic bags each hour. Plastic products make our life convenient. However, plastic rubbish has been found in deepest seas by scientists recently. Plastic pollution is damaging( 损 害 )our planet. So it's high time to pay attention to the problem of plastic pollution.

There are several steps for you to follow before you put plastic waste in recyclable waste bins. For example, when you have an empty plastic bottle, you can first take off its cap. The bottle and the cap can be two different kinds of plastic so you'd better take them apart(分开) . 

Then, make the bottle clean with water, especially the inside because there are always drinks or other things left. Lastly, crush(压扁) the bottle so that it can be easy to take and transport.

Do you know "Lian Lian, Cong Cong, and Chen Chen"? They are the mascots (吉祥物) for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou. They are robots. "Lian Lian" stands for the West Lake. The West Lake is a world heritage site (世界文化遗产). Her name comes from the green leaves in the West Lake. It means clean and peace. "Cong Cong" stands for the world heritage site of Liangzhucity in Hangzhou. His name comes from the JadeCong. "Chen Chen" stands for the world heritage site of the Grand Canal. His name comes from the building of Gongchen Bridge on the Grand Canal.

After 16 days of exciting games, the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou ended on October 8th. Many people think that "Lian Lian, Cong Cong, and Chen Chen" brought so much fun to China in 2023.

The design (设计) of the mascots "Cong Cong", "Lian Lian", "Chen Chen" come from a designer named Zhang Wen and his wife Yang Yihong. She is a young teacher.

How tall is a tree? Usually trees in parks are over a few metres tall. But in Xizang, a fir(冷杉) is about 83. 4m tall! It is the tallest tree in China until 2022. The tree is about 380 years old. It is still growing well. 

Chinese scientists measured it in August. How did they measure such a tall tree? Scientists climbed up to the top of the tree. It took them about seven to eight hours to get to the top. They put down a 100-metre-long metal tape(金属卷尺) to the ground. Scientists measured this tree with a drone(无人机) in May. They said it was 83. 2m at that time. This time, they measured the tree more carefully and found it was 83. 4m. 

Scientists used a drone to take photos of the tree. The drone took three to six photos every few metres. It got over 160 photos. Putting them together, scientists got a full-size photo of the tree!

Philip Qiu is the founder of the Museum of Chinese in America. This museum {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(build)in 1980 for the purpose of promoting Chinese culture. "We organize many kinds of cultural activities and exhibitions {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (show) fantastic Chinese culture to visitors." he said.

Over the past five years, the museum {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (tell) and recorded the stories and experiences of Chinese the United States and has spread traditional Chinese culture. Meanwhile, it has promoted the exchanges of history and culture between the two {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (country). Besides, the museum has held 15 high-quality exhibitions with different themes such as history, painting and religion, receiving more than 100,000 visitors from different places in the world.

There is {#blank#}5{#/blank#}exhibition about Pursuing Harmony Between Human and Nature at the museum recently.  {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (it) exhibits(展品) include calligraphy, musical instruments and portraits.

In the future,{#blank#}10{#/blank#} if the museum has more chances, it will hold different themes of online and offline activities to help spread Chinese culture and tell the wonderful stories of Chinese people in the United States.
