H: Welcome to Star Students, Peter! What learning method are you go- ing to share today?
P: Thanks. I want to talk about the Pomodoro Technique. "Po- modoro" means" " in Italian. An Italian man named Francesco Cirillo invented the system in the 1980s. He named it after his mother's tomato- shaped kitchen timer.
H:
P:No, it's very simple. First, think about what you need to do, like writing an article. Then, think about all the steps of the task and write a clear to-do list. When you are ready, set a timer for 25 minutes and start working on the first step.
H: OK, but what happens when the timer goes off?
P: Then, set the timer for another 25 minutes and keep working.
H: OK. I get it. Can I use the timer on my phone?
P: You can, but then you might check messages or look at apps, so be careful. I use my dad's kitchen timer and turn off my phone while studying.
H:
P: Yes! It helps me use my time better. I finish my homework faster and have more free time now!
