Hi, I am Mo Hongwei from Qihe, Shandong Province. I am going to enjoy myself during the New Year holiday. On 1st January, I am going to stay at home and do my homework. On the morning of 2nd January, I am going to meet my grandfather's friend Mo Yun at the train station. In the afternoon, I am going to take Grandpa Mo around my school. In the evening, we are going to have a welcome party for Grandpa Mo. On the morning of 3rd January, I am going to show Grandpa Mo how to write with left hand. And I am going to ask Grandpa Mo to give me some advice about reading too. I think my New Year holiday is going to be fun. 

At thirteen, I was diagnosed (诊断)with a kind of attention problems. It made school difficult for me. When everyone else in the class was focusing on tasks, I could not.

In my first literature class, Mrs. Smith asked us to read a story and then write on it, all within 45 minutes. I raised my hand right away and said, "Mrs. Smith, you see, the doctor said I have attention problems. I might not be able to do it. "

She glanced down at me through her glasses, "You are no different from your classmates, young man. "

I tried, but I didn't finish the reading when the bell rang. I had to take it home.

In the quietness of my bedroom, the story suddenly all became clear to me. It was about a blind person, Louis Braille. He lived in a time when the blind couldn't get much education. But Louis didn't give up. Instead, he invented a reading system of raised dots (点) ,which opened up a whole new world of knowledge to the blind.

Wasn't I the "blind" in my class, being made to learn like the "sighted" students? My thoughts spilled out and my pen started to dance. I completed the task within 40 minutes. Indeed, I was no different from others; I just needed a quieter place. If Louis could find his way out of his problems, why should I ever give up?

I didn't expect anything when I handed in my paper to Mrs. Smith, so it was quite a surprise when it came back to me the next day--with an "A"on it. At the bottom of the paper were these words: "See what you can do when you keep trying?"

In honour of Mother's Day, Michelle shares memories of her mum, Marian Robinson. In a special speech, she reflects on what she learned about parenting from her own mother:

My mother is a woman who chooses her words carefully. She sometimes speaks slowly with a smile to make herself understood. It's a style that makes her a good partner or friend who doesn't need the limelight(公众焦点). 

As I've grown older, I've seen how her manner in conversation reflects her way of parenting. When it came to raising her kids, my mum knew that her voice was less important than allowing me to use my own, which meant she listened a lot more than told you how she thought you should behave. During my growing up, she was willing to endure(忍受) endless questions from me: Why do we have to eat eggs for breakfast? Why do people need jobs? Why are the houses bigger in their neighbourhoods? Why do we need to study? She would listen patiently to my reasons, instead of speaking angrily to me, if I had a fight with some of the neighbour kids. 

In today's world, it is easy to think that she wasn't being responsible, and that she was letting the kids rule the roost But that was not true. She and my father love their children very much, pouring a deep and long- lasting foundation(基础) of goodness and honesty, of right and wrong, into my brother and me. Even if I got bad grades at school, she never punished me seriously. Instead, she always talked about the reasons with me. What they did simply let us be ourselves. 

. . . I see now how important that kind of freedom is for all children, especially for girls. . . It's up to us, as mothers and mother figures, to give the girls in our lives the kind of support(支持) that lifts up their voices—not necessarily with our own words, but by letting them find the words themselves. 

On the first day of school, Socrates told his students, "Today, we'll only learn one thing, that is to stretch(伸展)your 1 , then try to swing them backward." He showed them and as a 2 , all the students laughed. "Sir, is it necessary to learn this?"one of the students laughed.

"Of course," Socrates replied 3 . "You think this is a simple thing, but it is very difficult." Hearing this, the students 4 even harder.

Without being a bit 5 , Socrates said, "In this class, I'll teach you how to learn this action well. Then after the class, from today on, you will do it 100 times a 6 ."

Ten days later, Socrates asked, "Who still 7 to swinging his arms?" About 80% of the students raised their hands. Twenty days later, Socrates asked, "Who still insists(坚持)on swinging his arms?" About 50% of the students 8 their hands. Three months later, Socrates asked, "Who still insists on that 9 action of swinging?" This time, only one student raised his 10 . He was Plato.

Perseverance(坚持不懈)is the simplest yet the most difficult thing in the world, because everyone can do it but not everyone will do it. Only the one who can stick the simple thing out may make it.

 Tomorrow is Emma' s first day of junior high school. Her mother buys her a new schoolbag. It is red. Emma is excited to have it. She sits on the chair and packs her schoolbag.

 First, she puts her pencil case into the schoolbag. What's in the pencil case? Look. She has two pens and three pencils. She also has an eraser and a ruler. They' re all in her pencil case. She also puts her colour pencils in the pencil case. She can draw pictures with them for her art teacher Mrs Green. Next, she puts her scissors(剪刀) in it. She wants to make cards with them for her friends. Then, she puts all her textbooks in it.

 Emma puts all the school things in her schoolbag. What a great term it can be!
