We should not use more water than we actually need. If we do, we will not have enough water in the future.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}It is not a difficult question to answer. If we remove more fresh water than nature replaces, we have taken too much.

    Many cities run campaigns (运动) to get people to stop wasting water. They show them ways they can cut back on water use.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}What's more, they carry out programs that offer money to reduce water use. For example, they give people shower heads and toilets that use less water.{#blank#}3{#/blank#}

    Another threat (威胁) to our water supply is pollution. When our sources of fresh water get polluted, we can no longer use this water. This also endangers (危及) the animals that depend on the water.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#}We can save lots of water by not letting taps (水龙头) run while we brush our teeth or by turning off taps right after washing hands. By collecting cold water when we're taking warm showers, we can also save water.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}In this way, we can make full use of water.

An old woman has an old cat. The cat can't run quickly or bite（咬）. The old woman doesn't take the old cat out for a walk or give it good food. The old cat always lies under the chair and doesn't want to move. 

Suddenly the cat sees a mouse（老鼠）in the house. So it jumps and catches the mouse. But it can't kill（杀死）the mouse because its teeth are bad. So the mouse runs away quickly. The old woman sees that and becomes angry. She begins to hit the cat and shouts，"Get out!Get out!"The cat doesn't go away but says to the old woman"Don't hit me. I have worked for you for many years. Now I still work for you. But I'm old and can't kill the mouse like before. Don't be rude（粗鲁的）to the old. Think about how much I did for you when I was young. "

A new house

I had a letter from my sister {#blank#}1{#/blank#} . She lives in Nigeria. In her letter, she said that   she would come to England next year. If she comes, she will get a {#blank#}2{#/blank#} . We are now   living in a beautiful new house in the {#blank#}3{#/blank#} . Work on it {#blank#}4{#/blank#} before my sister {#blank#}5{#/blank#} . The house was {#blank#}6{#/blank#} five months ago. In my letter, I told her that shc could stay with us. The house has many large rooms and there is a {#blank#}7{#/blank#} garden. It is a very {#blank#}8{#/blank#} house, so it looks {#blank#}9{#/blank#} to some people. It must be the only modern house in the {#blank#}10{#/blank#} .

My name is Bill and I'm a schoolboy. I'm thirteen {#blank#}1{#/blank#} old. I'm very {#blank#}2{#/blank#} this year. I go to school from {#blank#}3{#/blank#} to Friday. In the morning, I have four classes and in the afternoon, I have three classes. My favourite subjects are English and PE {#blank#}4{#/blank#} English is interesting and PE is relaxing. I like doing exercise with {#blank#}5{#/blank#} classmates.
