In many children's stories, a girl meets a prince and falls in love. They get married and live happily ever after. As a child, Meghan Markle may never have imagined marrying a prince. But that is exactly what happened on May 19th!

    Who is this young lady who just married into Britain's royal family (王室)？ Meghan Markle was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1981. Her mother, Doria, was a doctor, and her father, Tom, was a television lighting director. For 10 years after school each day, young. Meghan spent time at the studio where her father worked. This experience allowed her to become very comfortable with the acting business. For that reason, she knew she wanted to become an actress from a very early age. As a child, she felt strong about something else, too: People should be treated fairly. This passion (热情) to help others is still a big part of her life today.

    Her acting career (生涯) began in 2002 when she made her first appearance on TV. Other small parts on TV and in a few films followed. Nine years later, Markle got her big break. She won a lead role in the popular TV series Suits.

Did you have cereal for breakfast this morning? If you did, you were not 1 . Millions of people eat cereal for breakfast every day. In fact, cereal is popular all over the world. It all 2 with one man, Will Keith Kellogg.

Will was born on April 7, 1860, in Battle Creek, Michigan, USA. He got his first 3 at a sanitarium, a place for people who were ill for a long time or who were getting over a serious illness. Will worked hard and 4 became the manager of the sanitarium. His brother, John, was a doctor there. One big problem at the sanitarium was the patients' food. The patients needed 5 food, but it was also important for the food to be tasty. Will was trying to find a good food choice to 6 bread, but it wasn't going very well. Then, by accident, Will found something great. He let some wheat（小麦）cook too long. As it was rolled out（擀平）, it turned into large, thin flakes（薄片）. He asked his brother to serve the flakes to the patients, and they7 them! In fact, they wanted the flakes sent to them even after they left the sanitarium. So Will started a new 8 : selling packaged breakfast flakes. Before long, Will's breakfast cereal was popular in other countries, too.

Will did more than just selling breakfast flakes. His business made a lot of money. But he did not keep it. He used much of it to help children. He also used the money to 9 several other charities（慈善机构）. Will Kellogg died in 1951. But his most famous 10 is as popular as ever.

Try Something New

One day, I tried out for the school volleyball team, but I failed. It made me {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (充满) of sadness. After getting home, my mother tried to cheer me up but I still sat {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(寂静) in my room. 

In the next day, my mother invited uncle Gerry to our house. Because it was my{#blank#}3{#/blank#} （十二） birthday. The bell{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(发出铃声) and I opened the door. Uncle Gerry said "Still sad?"I guessed my mother had told him all about the{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(真相). I didn't want to say yes, but I felt better.

It sounded great. I decided to try new things on my way home that day. 

One day, while I was walking by a school, I saw some kids playing baseball. I thought about what my uncle had said, so I went to the kid. It took some {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (勇气), but soon I had fun playing with them. 

A year later, I became a player on our school baseball team. Now I'm still having fun playing baseball with my friends every week. In {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(整体), I found this happiness because I tried something new. 

Last week our school held(举行) a sports meeting. Everyone in our class felt very {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(exciting) because we were the winners(冠军). In the boys' relay race(接力赛), Michael {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(run) very fast and our class won first place. Yu Ting is good at the {#blank#}3{#/blank#}/lɒŋ/ jump and she also won. We were sorry that we did {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(bad) in the high jump than the other classes, but we were {#blank#}5{#/blank#}/ʃʊə/ we could do {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(well) next time. I took part in the {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(girl) 400-metre race. I did my best and was the first {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(pass) the finish line. This encourages(鼓励) me a lot. Now I love sports better. I want to be a football {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(play). I will take more exercise every day and I hope some day I will be {#blank#}10{#/blank#}/ˈeɪbl/to take part in the Olympic Games. 

I studied in China for six years. After that I attended school in 1 . There are two teachers I remember the most. 

When I 2  to Canada, I couldn't even order food on the flight. After two months on an ESL (English as a second language) course, I got my first 3  card. My mark in English was only 65. I couldn't 4  what would be said at the parent-teacher interview. 

"I am amazed at how his English has 5  so fast, " Mrs Franceschini said to my parents. "On his first day, he was very shy and only used 6  words. Now he can answer and ask questions by using complete sentences. "7  many other Chinese parents, my mum asked if she could give me extra homework. "Don't worry. Richard is already working very hard. Richard, you did a good job. I am 8  of you!" Mrs Franceschini said to me. 

Back in Shanghai, my teacher Miss Li was very 9 . I was nervous to take parents to the interview.

I thought she was being harsh(严厉的) to me. But 11  I was about to leave, I realised Miss Li was very 12 . She hosted a party for me and gave me a big card. "Feng Yu, you are my best student. I 13  you a successful life, "she wrote. "If you want to have a talk or need any help, I am 14  here for you. "

Miss Li and Mrs Franceschini are both great teachers, just in different ways. One 15  my learning abilities and the other gave me tons of confidence.
