Many Chinese people these days leave their hometown to work in the cities. They usually return to their hometowns one or {#blank#}1{#/blank#} times a year. Zhong Wei, a 46-year-old husband and father hasn't been back for almost three years. He has been working in a crayon factory in Wenzhou for the past 13 years. People like him are interested in how their hometowns are {#blank#}2{#/blank#} . New buildings are often built by the government. At the same time large hospitals and new roads have appeared.  Zhong Wei thinks {#blank#}3{#/blank#} developments are good because things need to change in order to become better. But he also thinks some things {#blank#}4{#/blank#} change. There is still a big old tree{#blank#}5{#/blank#} the school. Zhong Wei can still remember what his happy childhood was like under that big tree, and his hometown is still the place that holds all his childhood memories.

Many kids help parents to do chores in the house. They may take out the trash,walk the dog or clean the floor. In return, some kids get money or other rewards(报酬) from their parents, such as 20 minutes to play computer games.

But some people do not think that kids should get rewards for doing chores.One of them is Jane Smith, a family educator(教育者). She believes if kids get rewards, they may think that work isn't worth(值得) doing unless you get something in return. For example, kids won't clean the floor if they see it is dirty. But they will do it if their parents reward them for it.

"Every house is a teamwork,"Jane said."A home is a living place for everyone in the family. It's important for kids to see that we all have a responsibility(责任) to keep our home clean."

Other people have different opinions. They believe that money or other rewards encourage(鼓励) kids to do more chores. It also teaches them real world lessons.

They can learn about how we need to work to make money.

Now, there are also apps that encourage kids to do chores. The apps give kids points and digital(电子的) gifts that can be used either online or in life. With the Chore Monster, kids get digital points after doing chores. Kids can exchange their.points for real rewards, such as time to play video games or a trip to the mall."Our purpose(目的) is to encourage kids so they can get rewards,"says Joe Black, the founder(创始人) of Chore Monster."Kids need positive(积极的) power to make them do chores."

Embroidery (刺绣) is an important art form in Chinese culture. The most famous embroidery styles are Su embroidery from Suzhou, Shu embroidery from Sichuan, Xiang embroidery from Hunan and Yue embroidery from Guangdong.

Shu embroidery is the oldest of the four. It dates back to the Han Dynasty(206 BC-220 AD). People sold it to other countries through the South Silk Road.

Embroidery takes time and patience. Since modern machines can make cheaper embroidery products today, fewer people buy handmade Shu embroidery products. They are also very few young embroiderers. So the skill is in danger of dying out. To protect the skill, Shu embroidery was added to China's intangible cultural heritage list (非物质文化遗产目录) in 2006.

Meng Dezhi has been making Shu embroidery for forty years. The 59-year-old is a national-level inheritor (传承人) of the art form. She used to work at the Chengdu Shu Embroidery Factory. But in 2006, the factory went broke and Meng lost her job.

Wanting to save the art, Meng wanted to have her own place and teach Shu embroidery to others. It's hard work. Workers need to divide each silk thread (线) into more than ten or even thirty pieces. Each piece is thinner than a single human hair. In 2016, Baidu invited Meng to make a homepage logo for Qixi Festival. It was a small logo, but it required the use of 45 types of sewing techniques (针法) and 35,000 stitches (针).

Meng is trying to save Shu embroidery by teaching in different universities and communities. She believes that Shu embroidery stands for thousands of years of Sichuan culture and should be saved.

"I feel that I have the responsibility to pass on Shu embroidery skills to young people, to let it run from generation to generation," she said.

It's always a happy moment when you get some pocket money. But have you ever thought about how to spend your pocket money wisely？Here is some advice.
