Many people are warned by the worsening climate crisis (气候危机). But not everyone would like to make lifestyle changes to further protect the Earth. A survey by Kantar Public, a global consulting (全球咨询) and research business, invited 1,000 people in 10 countries including the US, UK and Spain to give their opinions on actions for environmental protection.

Sadie was on a basketball game on a wheelchair. The game had only just started, but Sadie had collided (碰撞) twice with another player's wheelchair. The coach waved Sadie off court (球场). The disappointed crowd behind her began to laugh.

Sadie tried not to cry in front of all those people. She was upset that her brother, Richie, was absent from her important game, and it showed in her playing.

Richie was Sadie's whole world. Sadie had loved to play basketball before her accident, and it was Richie who taught her to play again. At first, she was so upset that she did not want to get out of bed. Richie was always there to encourage her to play basketball again. He even borrowed a wheelchair for himself to help her practice.

But lately, Richie preferred to hang out with his new high school friends. Sadie would watch from the house as he washed his new car. When he drove away, tears filled Sadie's eyes. Sadie's mother saw that she was sad. "Your brother still loves you," she said. "He has new friends now, but he still cares about you." But Sadie still felt hurt.

Sadie looked up and searched for her mother in the crowd. She was surprised to see her mother smiling. Then out of the corner of her eye, Sadie saw a familiar boy running across the gym toward her. It was Richie! He was holding some flowers. Richie handed her the flowers with a smile.

"But we're losing," said Sadie. "Why are you giving me flowers?" she asked.

"That's not important," said Richie. "What I know is that you're a great player, and there is no way I'm going to miss your big game! It's great to have new friends, but I realized that you're my best friend."

Sadie smiled and went back to the game. With her brother watching, Sadie got the ball from another player. Then she scored the first amazing goal.

My English learning began in primary school. I was happy to say sentences like: "What's your name? "and to answer this question with "My name is Renato". 

I felt I was not a little boy any more because I could understand a foreign language. English was so wonderful for me. For the first time，I was able to understand my favourite English songs. How great it was!

After finishing middle school，my family couldn't pay for my study in an English school. My mother gave me some advice. "What about learning English by reading books and singing songs? "she said. Then I started reading books in English and using songs as a way of learning English. 

Three years later，I found a job and sometimes I talked to some foreign people. One day，I lost my job unluckily. I decided to go back to school to learn English. 

Now，I still love English. I use TV，music and the Internet to learn English. These things help me to improve both my listening and speaking. I hope I will have more chances to use this language in the future. I also hope more people can love it. 

There once lived a bird and her two babies in a forest. One day, there1 a big storm. A heavy branch fell and killed the mother bird.2 the wind blew the baby birds away and they sun ived. One of them came down near a cave where robbers （强盗） lived.3 landed outside a wise man's house.

Soon, he came to 11 wise man's house. He heard a gentle voice, "Welcome, Sir. Please go inside and rest." The king looked up and saw another big, brown bird.

Later the wise man came back. The king told him the story of the two birds・"They look so alike,12 they behaved so differently. The forest 13 with surprises." The wise man smiled, "After all, one is known by the company one keeps. That bird has heard so much talk about robbing 14 he talks like a robber now・ This one has repeated 15 he has always heard. He welcomes people."

My name is Paul and I am twelve years old. I live with my parents. We have a farm. The farm isn't big, but there is much work to do.

There are many kinds of animals on the farm. We have cows, horses, pigs, sheep, chickens and ducks. Some of them are small, like chickens and ducks, but some are big, like cows. Big cows have big brown eyes. They eat grass all day and make a sound(声音) like" moo". There are pigs, too. They are pink and round. Chickens are also on the farm. They lay eggs for us to eat. Ducks swim in the pond. I often give food to the small animals there.

We also grow(种植) many fruit and vegetables. There are eight apple trees on the farm. We also have tomatoes, potatoes and carrots. These fruit and vegetables are good for our health.

It is very helpful for students to have hobbies. Some hobbies can make you grow as a  {#blank#}1{#/blank#} and develop your interests. They will also help you learn new skills. 

David has many hobbies. One of them is writing. During the summer of 2010, he spent four {#blank#}2{#/blank#} at a summer camp. There were some daily  {#blank#}3{#/blank#} , such as climbing and sailing. There was also a writing class. The teacher asked students to talk about their lives and tell interesting stories. Then she {#blank#}4{#/blank#} them to write about their experiences at the camp. 

 {#blank#}5{#/blank#} the teacher's help, David wrote a story about the life of a sixteen-year-old boy after going back to school. It came out {#blank#}6{#/blank#} a book in 2012. The book is so interesting that it is very popular with young people.{#blank#}7{#/blank#} , more and more people knew him and wanted to read more of his books. David enjoys writing, and he will keep writing more good books. It is his hobby that brings him pleasure and {#blank#}8{#/blank#} . David is also {#blank#}9{#/blank#} in doing sports, such as playing ping-pong and volleyball. He often spends his free time {#blank#}10{#/blank#} volleyball with the school team. Perhaps he will write stories about his volleyball team in his future books.
