Rescue (救援) dogs play an important role in saving people's lives around the world. They are really  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}  (hero). They usually work with police and firefighters. They are highly trained and skilled in finding and saving people in  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (danger) situations.

One of the most famous rescue dogs is Trakr. He became famous  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}  he was one of the first dogs to get to the World Trade Center after September 11th attacks in America. He helped to find and save several people who were hurt. Actually, he  {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (begin) training when he was very little and the training took up to two years. He learned to work outdoors in heat, cold and bad weather and were trained to work with his partners  {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  many hours every day.

Rescue dogs  {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (use) to help find people who are lost in wild areas, too. In 2016, {#blank#}7{#/blank#}team of rescue dogs from the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation (NDSDF) helped to find a hiker who was lost in the mountains. The dogs were able to use  {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (they) strong sense of smell to find the hiker.

Rescue dogs are also trained to provide support to people. They can make people in need feel much {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (good). Nowadays, rescue dogs and their partners sometimes visit schools to teach children {#blank#}10{#/blank#}  to be safe and what to do in a risky situation.

 Children hated to play with me. That's {#blank#}1{#/blank#} one of my eyes was badly hurt when I was fifleen months old. I lost the sight(失明) of the eye with {#blank#}2{#/blank#} ugly scar(伤疤) around it. It made me sad. My mother told me," Alice, hold your head up high and face the world. If you do, it {#blank#}3{#/blank#} ( be) OK."

 At the {#blank#}4{#/blank#}( begin), it was really hard. When I grew up, I understood her   words. She expected me to look people in the eye and let them know me. In high school,I spent much time {#blank#}5{#/blank#} my schoolwork. I tried my {#blank#}6{#/blank#}( good) to study and I got good grades. People began to like me and I made some friends {#blank#}7{#/blank#}( successful). At university, I took part in all kinds of {#blank#}8{#/blank#} ( activity). I joined a music club and we helped poor children. The club {#blank#}9{#/blank#} ( become) famous and then I had more friends.

I'm facing new trouble along the way of my life. It doesn't matter what the   trouble is. I'm ready {#blank#}10{#/blank#}( face) it bravely..

The train started moving. It was packed with people of all ages. Most of them were working men and women and young college boys and girls. Near the window sat an old man with his son, who looked about thirty years old. 

As the train moved, the son was filled with joy because he was very excited at the scenery(景色) outside. He said in a high voice, " See Dad, the green trees and the scenery are very beautiful!" It made the other people feel very strange. Everyone started talking in a low voice about the old man's son. Suddenly, it started raining. Raindrops fell on the travelers through the opened window. 

Seeing the rain, the old man's son said happily, " See Dad, how beautiful the rain is!" Hearing these words, a young lady became angry with the man, as the raindrops were dropping on her new clothes. She couldn't help shouting at the noisy son and his father. 

" Can't you see it is raining? You ! Old man! If your son is not feeling well, get him to a mental hospital (精神病院) quickly and please don't disturb(干扰) us any more!" The old man's face turned slightly red and then in a low voice, he replied, " We are on the way back from hospital. He was blind at birth. Only last week he can see again. The rain and the nature are new to him. Please forgive him. " All the other people became quiet. 

I'm Mike. This is my room. A bed, a desk, a chair, a sofa and a TV are in my room. A green quilt(被子)is on the bed. I like the colour green. My desk is green, too. And my blue schoolbag is on it. My white jacket is on the chair. And a ball is under the chair. What's that on the sofa? It's an English-Chinese dictionary. It's my sister's. The TV is nice. It is from my grandfather. I like watching TV on the sofa. 

I am a middle school student. I come from Haikou, a beautiful city in the south of China. It is part of an island— Hainan Island. Haikou has a history of more than 1,000 years, and it has a {#blank#}1{#/blank#} of about 2.9 million. Apart from (除了) Han population, there are many minorities (少数民族), such as Li, Miao and Hui. As the city has a low latitude (纬度) and is near the sea, it is warm at any time of the year. It is {#blank#}2{#/blank#} for its beautiful coastal sights (风景). Every year lots of {#blank#}3{#/blank#} visit the beautiful city,{#blank#}4{#/blank#} in winter. The Holiday Beaches and the Bell Tower are pretty popular for holidays. The Arcade House and Wildlife Park on the {#blank#}5{#/blank#} are also famous. Welcome to my home town!
