①Ahh...ahhhh...aaahhhhchooo! That sneeze is uncovered, and so the germs(细菌) fly through the air. It is pretty awful to think about, but have you ever wondered about the germs in your body? They are very small organisms(生物体) that live inside us. An organism is a living thing. Germs area live, and they can cause us to get sick. It is impossible to keep germs out of our bodies. They are so tiny that we do not even know they are coming inside our bodies. The only way we know that germs have made us sick is when we begin to feel symptoms. We might get a fever or a sore throat. We might have a runny nose or a headache.

②Germs are usually spread through the air They come out in a sneeze, a cough, or a breath. They can also be spread by saliva(唾液), sweat(汗), or blood. Sometimes, they come from touching something. For example, a person can touch his or her nose and then touch a doorknob(门把手). If someone else touches that doorknob right away, he or she can pick up those germs.

③How can you protect yourself from germs? The most important way to do this is to wash your hands. Soap and water area germ's enemies. They wash the germs away. This is why it is so important to wash your hands throughout the day. But a quick splash(飞溅) will not work. Hands should be washed for about twenty seconds.

④Staying healthy also keeps germs away. This means getting enough rest and not being too tired. It also means having good foods and exercising. These are germ-fighting secrets!

In the warm waters near an island, a small group of dolphins comes up for air. The dolphin in the front is Mother Dolphin.

Mother Dolphin will 1 Baby Dolphins for a long time. She'll stay beside her babies until they grow up. Baby Dolphins are very playful. They can swim well and love to push their mother softly. After playing so much, they get tired. At night, they 2 just below the surface of the water with Mother Dolphin.

Dolphins may look like fish, 3 they aren't really fish. Dolphins have their own underwater language of sounds. They use these 4 to communicate with each other.

Dolphins always travel in small groups to 5 themselves against their enemies, like the shark. They can live for many years. Some dolphins live up to 35 years in the wild.

I was a young English teacher in a middle school. One day, a student asked, "Mr. Lewis, what is the difference between a period（句号） and a comma（逗号）?" I hated these grammar rules and hardly understand them myself. As I looked at the textbook, I knew that even if I told this student all the different rules about commas, he wouldn't remember them. 

I was also in no mood（心情） for a long lesson. My mum had died just a few short weeks ago. I missed her so much. All I wanted to do was stay in bed, but my own young family was living a difficult life and I knew I had to take every day of work I could. 

I looked at the textbook again but couldn't read it because my eyes were so watery. All at once, however, I got an idea. "A period is the end of a sentence or a thought," I said, "A comma, on the other hand, is just a short pause（停顿） before the sentence continues on." When I finished saying this, my heart suddenly felt lighter. I smiled and thought of my mum continuing on in a place much brighter and happier than the one I was in now. 

That little moment of light helped me as I continued to miss my mum over the months and years to come. Recently I remembered it once again when I saw this sentence in a book I was reading: "Death is not a period, only a comma."

Our lives are a sentence and a story that goes on forever. Our time here is only a part of it.
