"Have you ever heard that it's impossible to fold a piece of paper more than seven times? Actually, it is just a popular myth. 

The myth refers to folding a piece of paper in half many times in any direction. The paper is folded in half. Try it for yourself with a piece of notebook paper. ____ But when you make the fifth and sixth folds, you'll notice that it's increasingly hard to fold the paper. Why does it happen? Because the number of the layers (层) of paper doubles with each fold. For example, after the sixth fold, you're left with 64 layers of paper. If you have strong hands, you may be able to make that seventh fold. If you start with a piece of paper that is 0.01 centimeters thick, it'll be as thick as a notebook after seven folds. And it would seem impossible to make more folds. At this point, you may be thinking that the paper-folding myth doesn't sound much like a myth.

However, in 2002, a high school student named Britney Gallivan proved the idea wrong. Britney successfully folded a 1.20-meter-long roll of toilet paper 12 times (note that she used single-direction folding). She also developed a math rule. This is convenient. It allows you to find out the maximum (最大的) number of possible folds based on paper thickness, paper length, and direction of folding.

Since Britney's success, many people have managed to fold a single piece of paper more than 7 times. Students even folded a piece of toilet paper a total of thirteen times. The toilet paper they used was about 4,000 meters long!

Can you recognize (辨别) AI-made pictures among real ones? Mark Zuckerberg wears a pink coat and walks in the fashion show. Former US president, Donald Trump, falls over while {#blank#}1{#/blank#} is getting arrested (逮捕). These pictures have {#blank#}2{#/blank#} popular online recently. They have one thing in common—they are fake (假的), but they look real.

AI tools, like Midjourney and DALL-E, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} create such pictures. Simply type in what you want and the picture comes out in a few minutes. People have never been {#blank#}4{#/blank#} worried than today about the fake news.

However, AI tools are not perfect. News medias, including the Washington Post and the Paper gave some {#blank#}5{#/blank#} on recognizing fake pictures.

One way is to look at hands. Human hands are often {#blank#}6{#/blank#} incorrectly by AI. The photos AI uses to learn often show hands in different ways, so it isn't sure what a "hand" {#blank#}7{#/blank#} looks like.

The other way is to {#blank#}8{#/blank#} attention to the details. For example, people in an AI made picture may miss an earring or a part of their glasses. If there {#blank#}9{#/blank#} a text in a picture, the text is usually unreadable. AI is also terrible at dealing with the background. If there's a crowd in the image, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} faces in the corner are usually unclear—or they don't have a face at all!

Family education plays a big role in one's life. Good parents will greatly influence their children. Our group wants to know what great values teenagers learn from their parents and how often they communicate with their parents. So a survey was made among 1，000 students in our school including the first，second and third students. Here are the diagrams showing the results. 

Family is the first classroom for teenagers，and parents are their first teachers. The character and habits that teenagers develop have a lot to do with their parents. Parents should pay attention to their words and acts because teenagers will follow parents' behavior. Parents should serve as role models for their teenage children. They should show positive behavior（积极行为） ，such as kindness，honesty，and respect，which their children can learn from them. By setting a good example，parents can help shape their children's character and habits in a positive way. 

What was the population of China in 2023? There were about 1.42 {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (billion) people in China in 2023. It was almost one fifth of {#blank#}2{#/blank#} world's population. However, the growth rate (增长率) of newborns in China is slowing down year by year,{#blank#}3{#/blank#} more and more young people don't want to get married or have children now. How to increase the population growth is {#blank#}4{#/blank#} big problem. 

In the past, we had to control (控制) the population growth. Now it is {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(complete) different. People no longer need {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(worry) about food and clothing, and population aging (人口老龄化) is getting more and more serious. In order {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(solve) this problem, the government carried out the three- child policy (三孩政策) in 2021. We should make people {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(know) that young people are the future of our country. Just as the old saying goes, "A stronger teenager (青少年) makes {#blank#}9{#/blank#} stronger country. " So I think every couple should have at least one {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(child). In this way maybe the problem of population aging will be improved in the future.
