Forests are the lungs (肺) of the earth. Without {#blank#}1{#/blank#} , it cannot breathe. In many {#blank#}2{#/blank#} , such as New Zealand, Canada, and Brazil, forests were cut down to build houses. Cutting down trees is {#blank#}3{#/blank#}to human beings, animals and plants. Many young volunteers around the world are working in their holidays to plant new trees. These young men and women face many difficulties when they plant new trees. The {#blank#}4{#/blank#} problem is the weather. It may be very hot and dry or may be very cold and wet. Though it is difficult, they never give up. They believe that the world will become much {#blank#}5{#/blank#} in 50 years with their efforts.

When you are feeling unhappy or forget how great you are, these six ways can help make you feel good about yourself.

There are many reasons to enjoy drinking tea. However, you should let the hot tea cool down a little before you drink it. Why?A new study in the International Journal of Cancer gives the answer.

"Many people enjoy drinking tea, coffee or other hot drinks. However, according to our report, drinking very hot tea can increase the risk (风险) of esophageal cancer (患食道癌), so you'd better wait until hot drinks cool down before drinking," the lead writer of the study, Dr. Farhad Islami of the American Cancer Society, said.

For the study Islami and his team followed more than 50,000 people aged between 40 and 75 years old. They found 317 of those people had esophageal cancer. The National Cancer Institute reported that about 17,290 Americans had esophageal cancer in a year and that only about 19% of sick people survived. However, five years later, they died. 

The scientists found that drinking 700ml drinks (about three cups) every day or more at a higher temperature (温度)(60℃or hotter) would have a 90% higher risk of having esophageal cancer, compared (比较) with people drinking the same quantity at a temperature below 60℃.

This is not the first report showing a person drinking very hot drinks has the risk of cancer. In 2020, the World Health Organization showed a report. It found that drinking very hot drinks of any kind could increase the risk of cancer.

The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics was a great success. China has kept the promise to hold a green Olympics. Many green actions made it possible, like providing environmentally friendly smart beds, using new energy(能源) cars, supporting sporting places with 100% clean energy and reusing rain and snow water.

Take making ice as an example. China didn't use R507, a common material to make ice, because it isn't friendly enough to the environment. Through 18 months' hard work, China independently developed the CO₂ direct cooling technology.

A net of tubes runs under the ice. High-pressure liquid(液态) CO₂ goes through them to create heat(热) exchange. The CO₂ evaporates(蒸发) under the ice surface. The evaporation takes in heat and turns water on the surface into ice. And the CO₂ goes into another circle. This technology helps to make ice better and faster. And above all, it is much greener because there's no new CO₂ produced. Among all the 15 ice sporting places in the Winter Olympics, 7 used the CO₂ direct cooling technology to make ice. As a result, much less pollution was caused.

Beijing did so much more to save energy. Beijing built the new sporting places with green materials. As for the old ones, Beijing used new glass walls to take the place of traditional walls to let more natural light in. 70% of the waste heat was also reused to keep warm and dry. And a large number of new energy cars were used at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics is the first to truly achieve carbon neutrality(碳中和), and it has set new standards in green technologies. Some newspapers say China has set an example for the world in environmental protection and green development.

Lots of animals sleep for a very long time in winter—like frogs, bears, bees, ants and snakes!

In the fall, the bear eats lots of fruits and fish to last a long time.  It makes a bed of leaves and twigs（树枝）, then curls up in a ball and falls asleep.  Its breathing（呼吸）becomes slow, and its heart beats a lot slower, too!

It won't eat, drink water, or go to the bathroom until spring.  When it wakes up after winter sleep, it will be hungry.  So it eats almost anything, like meat, wild berries, grass and fish.

The Spring Festival is the most important traditional (传统的) Chinese festival. And watching the Spring Festival Gala on Chinese New Year's Eve (除夕夜)is an important activity for Chinese people. On the show, we can see many excellent performers give performances like comedy acts, songs, and dances.
