Fred: I spend time on the Internet and buy many things online. I don't need to go out and wait for a long time. Also, I can always get the best things online. 

Dennis: I like shopping online a lot. I love to buy things on the Internet because people can send the products to me in a few days after I click the mouse on what I want. 

Anthea: Shopping online is a good way for us young people. We can save lots of time. When we buy anything online, we can compare different prices and features at the same time. 

Elihu: l like spending time going here and there in different shops and meeting different people, so I do very little online shopping. 

Harriet: 1 especially like shopping online, because it's much easier to choose my favourite things. Now I also have an online store called Millen to sell clothes. 

Kate is both my neighbour and my best friend. I first met her five years ago.

Tea and coffee are two of the most popular drinks in the world. However, people usually like one more than the other. These drinks also have very different uses. 

Tea drinking started in China over 4, 000 years ago. Tea is made from leaves. These days, some people drink tea for health, using it to help with stress or lose weight. However, most people in tea-drinking countries think of tea as more than just a healthy drink. In fact, tea drinking in some countries is a part of the culture. In Turkiye(土耳其), tea is always there when people meet. Whether in someone's home or a company, tea is always offered as a way of welcoming. In the UK, homes and offices usually have tea time. Tea and other dishes are served at tea time in the afternoon. It is a way to feel at ease with friends or co-workers(同事). 

Coffee came much later than tea, just over 1, 000 years ago. Coffee is made from beans. Something in the coffee beans makes a person feel active. Most people do not drink coffee to relax. Instead, they drink coffee to get going. Many people drink coffee in the morning to help themselves wake up. Others will also drink coffee during short breaks in the afternoon to keep going through the working day. Some people may visit coffee shops just to meet and talk with friends. However, many people in coffee shops drink coffee while working on their computers.

Vacation is coming to an end. How many of you have burn    the    midnight    oil to finish your homework over the last few days? What about during the school year- when you get home from school, do you start working on your homework right away?

It can be hard to be this responsible. A lot of people usually put off difficult or annoying tasks until they have to be done. They' re called procrastinators.

Procrastination is a common problem for many people. In fact, sometimes it just feels easier to wait until the last minute to do certain things. However, this is not a good thing, as you have to work hard er and faster if you wait until there is little time left. This means your work will probably be of less quality (质量).

I myself am a bit of a procrastinator. But most of the time, I try to finish my work earlier rather than later. It just makes more sense - if I finish my work now, I'll have more time to relax or work on other projects later. It can be hard to motivate (激励) myself to get started sometimes. But once I do, the work gets done quickly and with little stress.

Everyone procrastinates from time to time. It's a natural thing to do. You don't have to beat yourself up over it - after all, we still need time to relax and take a break from our busy lives. Just make sure you still get your homework done on time!

Communication (沟通) is a problem for parents and children of all ages. If it's hard for you to communicate with your parents, don't worry about it. Here is some advice for you.

Don't argue (争吵) with your parents. Don't try to talk about anything with your parents when you are angry. Your parents may not think about your ideas if you shout (大声叫喊) at them. Stop talking and go somewhere else to cool    off. Then think about what you want to say to your parents. If you think you can't speak to them at that time, write a letter to them.

Try to understand (理解) your parents. Your parents may think differently from you. Tell your parents what you think, what you care about and why, and you may find a better way out. Michael's mother didn't agree with him about buying a motorbike. She thought driving it would waste too much time. But Michael didn't think so. They argued over it. They understood each other after they had a talk. At last, Michael bought the motorbike, but only drove it on some days.

It's also important to show your love and respect (尊重) to your parents. Try to do some small things, like making them a cup of tea, helping do some housework and so on. Also speaking to them politely shows your respect.
