Hello, I'm Anna. The summer holiday is coming. What's your plan for it? I would like to {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (分享)mine with you. This holiday, I will go on a summer {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (营地) in London first. I'm going to learn to draw, make new friends and go {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(观光) there. Anyway, I will have a lot of {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(乐趣). Then after coming back from London, I am going to visit my grandparents in the {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(乡下). l will help them with some farm work and {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(家务劳动). l also want to do some volunteer work {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(在……期间) the summer holiday, such as helping in an old people's home and collecting {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(垃圾) in the park. I think I will have a {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(极好的) holiday. I really look{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(向前)to it! 

Last summer I got the chance to spend a month helping out in a hospital in Africa. I had one year left at school, and I was  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(interest) in studying medicine at university.

Working there introduced me to a world that is very different from  {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(I) in so many ways. I was shocked(震惊的) that many families over there had such  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}poor and difficult life. But I was also surprised at how positively people spend their daily  {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (life). They come together and help each other, and that's something a lot of us here in the UK have forgotten. My work in the hospital  {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(be) hard. Not only did I spend a lot of time cleaning floors, but also I got to spend some time looking after the patients (病人)  {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(careful). And I liked  {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(talk) to some doctors and asking them about the job. I saw some truly awful(极坏的) things in the hospital,  {#blank#}8{#/blank#}none of them changed my mind about being a doctor. {#blank#}9{#/blank#}fact, they only made me more determined to learn medicine.

 {#blank#}10{#/blank#}I finished the work, I knew what I'm going to do in the future: I want to work for an international organisation like the Red Cross. I can't wait to get started.

My friend Jane and I have lots of hobbies and interests. We really like going to the cinema at the weekends. Both of {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (we) like listening to music too, and we like dancing at parties if the music's really good! Jane's {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (good) at music than me. The Year 2024 is coming, so we make a New {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (year) resolution. We are going to take {#blank#}4{#/blank#} a new hobby like playing the guitar. We like different {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (sport)—Jane often goes running in the park in the morning but I like playing soccer.

Last term, I tried my best {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (make) the soccer team. And I helped the team win many games. Besides, I am interested in art. I want to be an artist {#blank#}7{#/blank#} I grow up. So I keep on {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (practice) painting pictures in my free time, but Jane's favorite subject is English because she enjoys singing English songs. There's one thing we dislike—playing computer games! It is really {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (meaning). I hope our dreams {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (come) true in the next year!

My day began when I saw my six-year-old son Jonathan doing something in the garden by my azalea bush(杜鹃花从). By the time I got 1 , I found he'd broken it! It was my favorite! "Can I take this to school?" he asked. smiling. Though a bit unhappy, I nodded. Then I turned back to the broken bush and 2 it as if to say silently, "I'm sorry." Later I pruned (修剪) it with great care.

The rest of the day, I was busy doing endless housework. Time had passed by fast 3 I realized it was already 3:00. Leaving the clothes in the washing machine. I hurriedly got to school to 4 Jonathan. When I got there, the teacher told me she wanted to talk about Jonathan.

What now? I thought.

 I had prepared myself for the worst,5 the teacher's words greatly surprised me."Did you know Jonathan brought 6 to school today?" she asked. I nodded, thinking about my favorite bush. "See that little girl?" the teacher7 . I saw a bright-eyed child busily drawing a picture with crayons. I8 again

"Well, her parents are separated(分居的) and she has been9 these days. I did all I could to comfort(安慰)her, but nothing10 . This morning I watched your son walk over to11 with some pretty pink flowers and say, ‘This is for you.'"

I felt my heart full of12 for what my son had done. Holding Jonathan's hand, I said, "Thank you, you've13 my day."

I was warmed by the14 Jonathan showed to the little girl and I made up my mind to pass it on. Later that evening when my husband came back home from a tiring workday, I picked some pink azaleas and15 them to him. "This is for you," I said.
