My family lived in a big city, and we had no garden, but I often {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (go, went) to a small park near my home. There {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (are, were) a lot of trees in the park. Early in spring, those trees{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (get, got) green. I liked to see all the green leaves. In summer there were flowers everywhere. I often {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (read, reads) picture hooks on the bench. In autumn, the leaves turned yellow and red. I often {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (take, took) a walk with my parents. One afternoon, Henry was reading the newspapers and his mother was busy preparing lunch in the  1 . She  2 cooking oil and asked Henry to buy a bottle from the shop.

Li Tong was born in a poor family in a small village. His mother is ill and his dad works{#blank#}1{#/blank#} a farmer. But Li Tong loves his family very much. 

At the age of seven，he s{#blank#}2{#/blank#} training for diving （跳水） at a sports school. He trained for three to four h{#blank#}3{#/blank#} and did 400 dives every day. 

Later，he joined the diving team of the city. With the help of his coaches，he tried{#blank#}4{#/blank#} best to improve his diving skills. He trained so h{#blank#}5{#/blank#} that he made great progress and won many competitions. 

At the age of fourteen，Li Tong competed in the Olympics Games. He took p{#blank#}6{#/blank#} in the men's 10 meter platform event（十米高台跳水）. {#blank#}7{#/blank#}it was his first Olympics，Li Tong stayed very calm. During the final round，his most wonderful dive got a perfect score of ten. This dive was {#blank#}8{#/blank#}as "Li Tong Dive". 

Li Tong won the gold medal and many people were surprised at his talent and ability at such a y{#blank#}9{#/blank#} age. After his Olympic success，Li Tong became a sports h{#blank#}10{#/blank#} in his village. Many people have become his fans and take great pride in him. 

When I was 16 years old, I made my first visit to the United States. It wasn't the first time I had been1 . Like most English children, I learned French at school and I had often been to France. 2 I was used to speaking a foreign language to people who did not understand 3 . But when I went to America, I was really looking forward to having a nice easy holiday without any4 problems. 

How wrong I was!The misunderstanding began at the airport. I was looking for a5 telephone to give my American friend Danny a ring. So I asked an old man, "I want to give my friend a ring. Could you help me? ""Well, that's6 , "he answered in surprise. "You look very7 . Are you getting married? ""Oh, no, "I replied. "I just want to give my friend a ring to tell him I've arrived. Could you tell me8 there's a phone box near here? ""Oh!Sorry, "he said, "There's a phone downstairs. "

When at last we did meet up, Danny9 the misunderstanding to me, "Don't worry!I met such problems at first. There are lots of words which the Americans10 differently in meaning from English people. But most of the time the English and American people understand each other well! You'll soon get used to all the funny things they say. "

This summer my family went on a trip to Stockholm. 

Before the trip, we booked {#blank#}1{#/blank#} hotel room in the city centre. When we arrived in Stockholm, we {#blank#}2{#/blank#} （take）a bus to the hotel. Then we went out for dinner. We saw trees and flowers everywhere on the way to the restaurant. We felt like we were in a big forest. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} a lovely city! 

The next day we visited the Vasa Museum. It's home to an old ship—the Vasa. Nothing was {#blank#}4{#/blank#} （exciting）than it for my son, because visiting museums is {#blank#}5{#/blank#}（he）favourite. There were many visitors in front of the museum. We waited {#blank#}6{#/blank#} a long time and felt a little tired. But {#blank#}7{#/blank#} we went into the museum, we were all surprised. The ship looked very cool and beautiful. Then we took quite a few photos. 

The third day we went to a park in Stockholm. Lots of people were in the park. My son played with some {#blank#}8{#/blank#} （child）there. I talked with their parents. My husband watched a chess game. I thought it was the best way {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（feel）Stockholm! 

It was a really {#blank#}10{#/blank#}（relax）trip. We all had a good time. 

Some of my friends think I have a boring daily life, but I like 1 . 

I usually get up at about 6:00 or 6:30 in the morning, after my alarm clock 2 me up.  First, I brush my teeth and wash my face.  Then, I get 3 and go downstairs to have breakfast with my family.  I always have coffee, bread and 4 fruit.  I take a bus to work because I 5 to drive.  I always arrive at my office before 8:00.  I'm never 6 for work. 

Five o'clock is my favourite time of the day 7 I finish work and go back home to see my family again.  I have two kids, Thomas and Patrick.  Thomas is six years old and Patrick is eight.  We have dinner together in 8 dining room at around 6:00 p.  m.  After that I usually stay 9 my wife and kids at home.  We really enjoy 10 our favourite TV programmes together.  We like to watch shows 11 travel. 

However, two or three times a week I 12 exercise in the evening, so I can stay strong and healthy.  I think it is very important! 13 , at 9:30 p. m. , I go to bed, read for a while, and then fall asleep. 

Of course, some people think my daily life is not fun, but on weekends and holidays I 14 going travelling with my family! It's 15 favourite hobby.
