This month, we went on a five day trip to Xishuangbanna, a beautiful place in the south of Yunnan Province. The weather there is hot and wet. There a {#blank#}1{#/blank#} many kinds of plants and animals. I want to i {#blank#}2{#/blank#} some interesting things we saw to you during our trip.

In the jungle(丛林), we saw a twining(缠绕的)plant. These P {#blank#}3{#/blank#} grow when seeds-seeds mainly from banyan tees (榕树)are moved by animals or wind to some other trees. These seeds gradually grow, developing their own aerial (空气的) roots. Little by lite, they will get themselves around the host tree and f {#blank#}4{#/blank#} kill it, just like a snake kills its enemy.

A {#blank#}5{#/blank#} thing we learned is that when a tree gets big and strong, some of its aerial roots will grow into the ground and develop into a new tee, just like the way cell division (细胞分裂) works. The w {#blank#}6{#/blank#} tree will look like a small forest. I think this is quite a {#blank#}7{#/blank#}.

In the forest, you will sometimes find some red leaves among the green leaves. Why is that?

One reason is that the sunshine is very strong in Yunnan. The trees n {#blank#}8{#/blank#} use all of their leaves in order to do photosynthesis (光合作用) and grow, so the color of some of the leaves c {#blank#}9{#/blank#}to red.

We really enjoyed our trip to Yunnan. We learned a lot about n {#blank#}10{#/blank#} and had a rally fun time. I hope we can take more trips like this in the future.

It's 6:00 p. m. Kate's family are having dinner. There is rice, eggs, salads, strawberries and some vegetables like tomatoes, onions and carrots on the table. But Kate doesn't like vegetables. She doesn't want to eat them and puts her bo wl away.

" Kate," says her father.

" Where are my hamburgers?" asks Kate.

" Don't think about them. We need to eat healthily," says Mom.

" How about some ice- cream, then?" asks Kate.

" Kate," Dad calls her name again. He thinks the dinner is nice.

Kate takes a bite(咬一口) of the tomato and quickly spits(吐出) it back into the bowl.

" Kate! Room! Now!" says Dad. He doesn't like her bad eating habits.

Kate runs to her room and cries, but she soon stops. Usually, her parents will get her some other food she likes if she doesn't eat dinner. So she waits.

At about 7:00 p. m., Mom tries to get Kate to eat some vegetables, but she says no.

At 9:00 p. m., Kate wants to eat something, but her parents still don't give her anything to eat.

At 10:00 p. m., Kate goes to the kitchen and sees some vegetables on the table. They don't look so bad. And you know what? They don't taste so bad, either.

Kate learns that she should eat health y food and live a healthy life.

Nick is a 14-year-old schoolboy.  His  life  is  full  of exams  and  studies  on weekdays. He    has little free time.    He thinks playing computer games is the best way to relax. When he has free time, he sits in front of the computer. Just like that, he doesn't eat or drink for several(几个) hours.

Last weekend,he played games in front of the computer again.He was too excited and didn't want to move. He didn't have anything for six hours. When he had to go to the bathroom,he found he could not move. He was taken to the hospital. The doctor told him he should do some different kinds of activities. In other words,he needs more exercise to have a healthy body.

After coming back from the hospital, Nick follows the doctor's advice(建议).He often plays soccer with his friends. Sometimes he still plays computer games on weekends,but he never does it for long. Now, he lives a happy and healthy life.

Recently, a video game named Black Myth:Wukong has been a great hit all over the world. Black Myth is China's first AAA video game. Why is it so popular? It is the Chinese culture inside it.

Wukong is a main character from Journey to the West, a Chinese classic god- evil novel written 500 years ago." Chinese god- evil stories are fantastic themselves. No one would dislike them once they start to learn about them. And my game just opens a window." Said Feng Ji, the game's producer. For this reason, although players from other countries were not fans of Chinese culture, they are now" hard- working" on every detail of the novel. For almost the first time, the world tries actively to understand Chinese culture.

The beautiful scenes in the game are also attractive. Among the 36 places that appear in the game, 27 are real in Shanxi Province. Take the Hanging Temple for example. It was built nearly 1,600 years ago and truly hangs on a steep cliff(峭壁). Players are amazed when they realize it is a true attraction.

An American player said," China is rich in culture and stories. I hope we can get more like this. I would love to go to China some day."

 According to a research more than 130 billion pounds of uneaten food go to waste in Laura's country each year. That is about 30% of the yearly food supply (供应). It is a sad fact especially when you consider how many families and homeless people are in hunger.

 When Laura saw her school dining hall throw away food that was not eaten at all every day, she came up with an idea. She started a project to help her school dining hall to give away uneaten food to homeless shelters (庇护所) in her community. In the past three years, the same project has spread to other schools and some fast food restaurants throughout the city. The project is called Feed& find, and has already fed thousands of people in her city.

 How does it work? Through an app, Feed& amp; Find matches local homeless shelters with school dining halls and restaurants that have uneaten food to provide. When dining halls or restaurants have uneaten food left, they can use the app to share the information about the food. A truck driver working for the project is then sent to pick it up and take it to a shelter.

 Pretty cool, right? It's not surprising that people in other cities have got in touch with Laura hoping that she could have developed similar projects for their communities.

 Some people, however, have concerns about the safety of the uneaten food. They think such food may not be clean enough. Still, this project is a clever way to help solve the problem of food waste and it helps those in need.

The earth is our home. We should love and take good care of her. 

As good friends of the earth, we should help  {#blank#}1{#/blank#} the earth clean. People have lived on the earth for many years. The earth was clean many years ago. But now the pollution is very serious. And the earth  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} dirty now. We must do something to protect it. Scientists must find a kind of clean fuel(燃料) for cars. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} must make the waste water clean before they let it out. 

We should live together with animals and plants in a  {#blank#}4{#/blank#} way. We mustn't cut down trees. We should plant more trees to make the air cleaner. We must stop killing animals. After all, protecting the earth is protecting  {#blank#}5{#/blank#}.
