My brother and I were driving home together and started talking Because of this distraction（分心）, my brother took a wrong turn. Unfortunately, the wrong turn took us toward a bridge, and we had no way of turning back. My brother had to pay to cross the bridge: He was-clearly upset by the mistake.

As we drove forward, my brother noticed that a car pulled over to the side of the road. A young guy was standing nearby trying to phone someone. I was busy trying to find out which-way we went next but my brother pulled over and asked the guy if he needed any help. And he did. He had. a flat tire（车胎瘪了）.

My brother helped him change the tire. He said that this had been a bad week for him and earlier he had gotten into a car accident, But he called us "a breath of fresh air" and kept thanking us. After we finished the job, he thanked us again and pulled out $20 and tried to give it to us. "No," my brother said. "We were never supposed to even get on that bridge. We took a wrong turn. Bui t now we know why we did. It was to help you. Thank you for turning our mistake into an opportunity to serve."

What I loved most was watching my brother throughout this process. He was able to turn his bad mood（心情）over the mistake into positive（积极的）energy. He was able to see a chance. to help（which I totally. missed!）even in a bad situation. Thatwas the bridge we were meant to cross.

Nadia Clarke, Seventeen-year-old,talks about her African experience.

Last summer I got the chance to spend a month helping out in a hospital in Africa. I had one year left at school, and I was interested in studying medicine at university. I thought it was the perfect chance to get some experience and to see if I really wanted to be a doctor.

It was a month that changed my life. I saw a world and it is very different to mine in so many ways. I was surprised at how poor so many of the families were there and how difficult their lives could be. But I was also surprised at how actively people face their everyday lives. The way they came together and helped each other touched me a lot, and I think a lot of us here in the UK have forgotten it. I think many of us don't get to know how lucky we are.

My work in the hospital was hard. I spent a lot of time cleaning floors and taking temperatures, and I also got to spend some time giving medicine. And I got the chance to talk to some doctors and ask them about their work. I saw some truly awful things in the hospital, but none of them changed my mind about being a doctor. In fact, they only made me more certain to do medicine!

When I finish, I know clearly what I'm going to do: I want to work for an international group like the Red Cross and spend my life helping people all over the world. I can't wait to get started.

A long time ago, there lived a very wise king. He was so wise that he knew the ways of almost everything. 

One day, a tiny bee lost her way, and flew into the king's beautiful palace. The little bee begged the king, "Please, let me live, and I will offer you help some other day. "

The king was amused(被逗乐的)to think a tiny bee could one day help a powerful king like him. He let the bee go and said, "Go, be on your way, for I need nothing more from you today. "

Many days later, a queen was coming to visit from a faraway land. 

"I hear you are wise, " the queen said to the king. "Would you be willing to put your intelligence(才智) to a test?" The king agreed and the queen did her best, with puzzles, quizzes and difficult questions. But the king solved all the problems perfectly. 

On the last day of her visit, the queen came up with another plan. She ordered the workers to produce ninety-nine fake flowers, but looking so real and natural. When finished, even the queen could not tell they were fake. She was sure the king would make the same mistake. And from the king's garden, she took just one real flower and cleverly hid it among all the others. 

The queen then challenged the king. "My workers created many beautiful flowers. Ninety-nine are fake, but one is real somewhere. Can you find that one?"

The king accepted the challenge again. He smelled the flowers, but they were all so sweet, and all so beautiful. Now which one could the real flower be? The king became a bit nervous. Suddenly, he heard a buzzing sound. Something was there flying around. It was the tiny little bee he saved many days before. "I am here to repay the kindness you gave me, sir. "

The little bee quickly flew over the flowers and stopped on the real one. The king picked the flower and handed it to the queen

Finally, the queen had to give up and told everyone the king was truly the wisest man in the world.
