Last summer, our class attended an English camp. We went there 1 from school early in the morning. We 2 the camp at 9 am. They offered a very good 3 to us after we got off the bus. After eating some delicious food, we watched a show. First, a group of musicians performed(表演) several nice songs. Everyone loved their show and 4 . Next, the Cultural Club performed two dances. All the dancers danced very beautifully. Everyone gave a thumbs-up to 5 .

Then, we had some language 6 like Spell-It-Right competition.We were divided into some teams. To 7 the games, we had to work together. While having fun with those games, we 8 learnt new words and made new friends from other schools.

Later in the afternoon, we had a break first. The camp started again at 2 pm. All of us were invited to watch English plays. Then some teachers 9 us how to write plays and prepare props(道具), such as lights and clothes. We also learnt how to act. This 10 was interesting and could help us to be confident.

The last activity was a treasure hunt(寻宝游戏). This game was very 11 because we needed to find clues(线索) to solve all the problems. There were checkpoints(关卡) in each place. We worked very well 12 each other. We studied the map 13 to find the right clues. At last, our team won the game. We were very 14 .

We went back home at 5 pm. 15 we were all tired, we had an unforgettable day.

I don't have 11 kids, but my brother has two daughters. They both have jobs and live away from home. One day, his elder daughter had a flat tyre while 12 on a busy highway. It was a/an 13 place for something like that to happen, but she didn't have to think twice about whom to call for help. My brother dropped what he was doing and drove 20 miles to 14 the tyre. This is what dads do--they help their children throughout their lives. 

Thanks to all the dads who endure, protect and help. They are the everyday 15 that their children need. 

Mrs. Brown will go to see her daughter in New York. She wants to take some of her favorite books. She finds an old-book in her bookcase. It's a book about art. Mrs. Brown finds a library card in it. "Oh, it's from the library," says Mrs. Brown. She finds the due date on the library card. The due date is November 20th, 1985, but it's 2023 now! "Oh, I must pay a fine (交付罚款) for it," thinks Mrs. Brown. She doesn't know what to do. She thinks about it. "I can just throw the book out (扔掉). No one will know," thinks Mrs. Brown. So she throws the book into the trash can (垃圾桶). "No, that's not the right thing to do," says Mrs. Brown. Then she takes the book out of the trash can.

It was a February afternoon. We were in a classroom. Taylor Angler watched some ducks swimming on a farm. But it was all in her head. A virtual reality headset（虚拟现实头戴式显示设备） took her there. "I was surprised to find that the ducks were right in front of me! It was an exciting experience（经历）." Taylor said after taking off the purple headset and finding herself still in the classroom. Many students around the world are taking VR "trips" like Taylor. But what change does it cause in learning? 

Taking children to visit different places is a good way to teach them about the world. But what can children do if they forget it after the trip? VR lets children go back at any time. 

It's difficult to talk about something if you didn't see it with your own eyes in the past. If you didn't see the ocean, with VR, now you can have a look at it for yourself. 

VR can also help students in science classes at school. "Too often at school, when you do experiments（实验）, you put different kinds of chemicals together and then get the result. And if you aren't successful, you need to do it again," a high school teacher said. "But we don't have enough chemicals. With VR, I just need to do it again on the computer. I don't have to use chemicals."

VR is useful, but that's not to say we don't need real-world experiences. The real world is what we really need to learn about. 

My little sister is in Grade Seven this year. Her favorite subject is math and she is very good at it.

One day, a friend of my father's from America showed us some {#blank#}1{#/blank#} about America and invited us to his home. My sister wanted to go there very much, but my father said she must speak English very well. From then on, she {#blank#}2{#/blank#} to work hard. She kept reading English for about half an hour every morning. In class, she listened very {#blank#}3{#/blank#} and answered the teacher's questions as soon as possible. There was an American teacher in her school. After school, she talked to him in English as {#blank#}4{#/blank#} as he was free. Now she always says, "My dream is to be a diplomat (外交官)." I am sure her dream will come {#blank#}5{#/blank#} one day.
