It was our school's yearly dancing show. I  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(be) excited that the teacher chose me this time although I didn't have any experience of dancing for a show. I would dance in front of all the students and  {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(teacher). It made me very proud(感到自豪的).

However, I was a bit sad  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}my father had no time to watch me dance. He had a business meeting that day. I knew that my father would surely come to my show if he could.  {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (lucky), my mother and my elder sister came to watch the show. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}the start of the day, I was very nervous. After putting on the dress and getting my make-up done, I felt much  {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(calm). Then I went on to the stage bravely. I was very glad to see my mother and sister sitting in  {#blank#}7{#/blank#}second row. Just before the lights turned dark, I saw my father rush into the hall and take the seat beside my mother.

 {#blank#}8{#/blank#}a pleasant surprise it was! The sight of my father made  {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(I) smile.

I began  {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(dance) confidently. I was so happy and lucky to have my family's support.

I'm a teacup at an antique (古董) store. With the pretty look and strong body, I'm 1 . Many people want to buy me. 

2 , I haven't always been a teacup. Once I was just a piece of 3 . A man took me and rolled (翻滚) me over and over. I said, "Don't do that. I dislike it!"

But he only said with a smile, "Not yet!" Then, WHAM! I was put on a machine and turned around and around. " 4 it! I'm feeling sick," I shouted. But the man still said, "Not yet."

Later the man put me in the oven. I never felt such 5 . When I thought I couldn't 6 it another minute, the door opened. The man carefully took me out and put me on a shelf (架子), and I 7 to cool. Oh, that felt so good! After I cooled, he started brushing me. The paint smelled so terrible that I asked him to give up. He only shook his head and said, "Not yet!" An hour later he handed me a 8 and said, "Look at yourself." I did that, and I was greatly 9 . "That's not me! It's so beautiful!" I shouted. 

"The process was 10 , but if I hadn't done that, you would never meet the best of you. Now you're not common clay, but a great product," the man said.

It was a fine day. People at the railway station were waiting for the train to arrive. The train was coming in. Everyone waited there to get into the train. A group of young men made loud noises to welcome the train. The empty seats were nearly filled and the train was ready to move. Just then，an old man with a little boy of 10 years old came running to catch the train. As soon as they entered the train，the train started to move. They had their seats just next to the young group. 

The little boy was so surprised to see everything. "Dad，the train is moving and the things are moving backwards out of the window!"he shouted to his father. A fruit seller went past selling apples. His father bought him some apples. "Oh，the apple looks much sweeter than it tastes，"the little boy said. "Is your son having any problem？Why is he so different？"one of the young men asked. Another young man made fun of him. "His son is mad，I think!"he shouted. "My son was born blind. Only a few days ago，he had an operation. It is the first time that he has seen things in his life，"the father of the little boy replied with patience（耐心地）. The young group became very quiet and said sorry to the father and the son. 

I stood by the window, Looking at the gray sky and snowy ground. A woman crossed the street, with a thick scarf, looking cold and unhappy.

 The morning was ideal for reading, so I turned on the light and lay in bed with a book. The phone rang, and I heard my mum agree to something, mentioning my name. Curious,I wondered what was happening.

 Mum entered and told me Uncle Sam was taking me to Sparrow Hills. Unwilling to leave on such a cold day,I hesitated(犹豫) but didn't want to disappoint Mum, so I put on my blue sweater. The doorbell rang, and Uncle Sam asked if I was ready.

"I suppose," I replied, grabbing a warm wool hat. We headed to the station, catching the train to Sparrow Hills. The train is warm, and my body started to relax.

"Can we just stay on the train?" I said as the train stopped. Uncle Sam softly pulled me up and said, "You will miss all the fun."

 Outside, the wind was blowing strongly. The trees were shining and they swung in the wind.

"I don't know how long I can stay out here," I said as we started to walk uphill. He pulled me closer to the trees and said, "Listen!"

 At first, I heard only the wind. Then came a jingling and chiming(叮叮当当). "That's the music in winter," My uncle said. I pulled my hat up to free my cars. The branches(树枝) sounded like hundreds of bells ringing, jingling and chiming. I was surprised and I stood still, looking at the icy branches hitting each other and leaves swinging in the wind. Then we climbed to the top of Sparrow Hills and looked down. The snow-covered trees made buildings appear brighter. Then the sun broke through the clouds.

"The sun is shining!" I shouted. Uncle Sam smiled and said, "The sun is always shining. You just need to climb high enough to see it."

Alexa and Brittany are best friends. They first met each other when Brittany moved next door in the 2nd grade. They play together 1 every day after school.

But they are different in many ways. Alexa is a shy girl. She is better at schoolwork than any other 2 in her class and reads a lot of books.

However, Brittany is 3 . She loves talking with other kids loudly.

Playing soccer is her favorite activity. Often, Alexa and Brittany play together in the park across the street. If it rains outside, they will go home and play computer games.

Some days they can spend hours playing together happily, but other days they just can't 4 what to do.

Last Wednesday, Alexa said, "Come on, Brittany. Let's read books." "They just cut the grass. I love playing soccer when the grass is nice and short," Brittany 5 .

"It's not true. We just read books yesterday. Now, read by yourself. I will go out to play soccer," Brittany said 7 .

Alexa felt sad and didn't know what to do. The next day, she asked her teacher, Mrs. Stone for help. Mrs. Stone said, "Best friends should understand each other. This is the most 8 thing. Maybe you don't have to play together all the time. You can just play together a few times a week. And you can also take turns (轮流) to 9 the activity." Alexa thought this was a good idea and went to talk with Brittany. The two girls said sorry to each other and decided to have a 10

As a big fan of paper folding, Jaeil Jeong knew nothing about it before his parents brought home a paper folding book.Young Jeong quickly took an interest in the creations inside and learnt to fold some of them by himself.

As a result, he found it so interesting that he decided to take it up as a hobby.At first, he copied designs(图样) he found in books and gradually made great progress.He was able to create his own designs at the age of ten.Today Jeong has become a master in paper folding.

For Jeong, paper folding is not just a hobby.It's a great way to clear his mind."Whenever I study for a test or search for a job, I make sure I have a piece of paper with me," Jeong said."There are moments when things don't go my way—that's when I prefer to take my paper out and begin to fold it.My mind is clear as if I was meditating(冥想).It can really bring me lots of pleasure."
