Hello,my name is Lily. I will tell you about my best friend. Her name is Trudy. Trudy has long,dark brown hair and green eyes. She is the same age as me, but a little taller. She is always happy.

We sit together in class,and help each other with our schoolwork. We always go home together after school and we play computer games at the weekend. Trudy thinks very quickly （快地）and usually wins （赢）.

Trudy is learning to play the piano. I am learning to play the flute（笛子）. We practise together every day.

Sometimes Trudy stays in my house for a night, or I stay in her house. We always have a good time.

 The 16- year- old girl Xu Zhuoyuan from Changsha, Hunan Province, reached the top of Mount Qomolangma on May 15th, 2023. She became the youngest Chinese woman climber to do so.

 The girl's interest in climbing is influenced by her father Xu Jianglei. He was the first man from Hunan Province to reach the top of Mount Qomolangma.

 As a first- year high school student, Xu Zhuoyuan has already had a lot of experience in climbing. She has climbed five mountains, all above 5,000 meters, across China at a young age. She started her dream of reaching the top of Mount Qomolangma at the age of 12 and finally succeeded after years of hard work. To realize her dream, she had continuous training. Last year, she successfully reached the top of Muztagata, a 7,546- meter peak in Xinjiang.

 Being a high school student, she tries her best to do well in both study and mountain climbing. Usually she climbs during her summer and winter vacation. She hopes to continue climbing after she finishes her university studies. She wants to climb to the highest peak in each of the seven continents(大陆). She also wants to be able to reach the North Pole and South Pole one day.

I am a Grade 9 student. I love the National Day holiday a lot, because I can do many things I enjoy. How did I spend the seven-day holiday last year? I didn't travel or visit friends. I found a part-time job.

That was the first time I had been a waiter (服务员). It was harder than I had thought. At first, I was not good at the job, and I nearly spilt (洒出) the soup on a woman's dress. Some people were very unfriendly, and they got angry ( 生气的) with me because of my mistakes. I was so sad and tired that I was almost ready to give up the first afternoon.

When I got the money at last, I felt very happy. The experience taught me that many jobs are not easy. Everyone is great when they are working hard. The most important thing I learned is how much praise (称赞) matters to people. It can give us lots of strength (力量). I think my National Day holiday last year was interesting and meaningful.

At school, students learn some different subjects in the classroom. These days, a new subject becomes popular. That is school gardening. Students learn it outside the classroom.

Gardening is not only an interesting subject, but also a practical subject for students. It teaches students a lot. Some vegetables are easy to grow, but others need a long time. This can teach students patience(耐心). With gardens, kids get to see a beginning, a middle and an end to their work. When working with others, they can also learn some teamwork(团队合作) skills.

Many people like to go to the library because it's a quiet and bright place for reading. But there must be some differences between your action in the library and your action at home. Here are some rules for you to learn before you enter a library.
