What is it like being an actress? Many people think it must be wonderful because we travel to exciting places, wear beautiful clothes and make a lot of money. This is only one aspect of our life though. We also work very hard.

I played a country girl in my last movie.I had to live in a small village with other actresses for part of the winter. It was really hard for meas I grew up in a city. To help me play a country girl better, I cooked for myself and other people every day. I even walked a few miles sometimes to get water, as there was none in the house. I wanted to understand how a real village girl lived. I thought it was fun at first. I felt different after a week or two. I wore some beautiful traditional clothes, but they were not thick enough. I was very cold but I had to keep smiling all the time. One day, I couldn't do it any longer and I suddenly started crying, "Great." said the director. "I like it. She is crying with true feelings." I called my mum to tell her about it but my mobile phone wouldn't work in the village.

I think it is worth doing all this. I like it when people tell me they enjoy my plays and ask me to sign a picture. It is also fun to be someone else for a while. I'm very lucky to be an actress.

It's cold today. Lily feels cold and she can't get up on time. Her mother asks her, "What's wrong?" "I feel very cold. Maybe I am ill." Lily answers. Her mother is worried and says, "You can't go to school this morning. Please get up and wear warm clothes. Let's go to the hospital and see a doctor. Don't worry. I'm sure you'll be better soon."

Sandy is a taxi driver in London.She tells us about her work and some of her experiences.

 1 did you start？

I've been a taxi driver for about five years.Before that，I was a bus driver in London，and I enjoyed it，but I wanted to be more independent，so 2 and started driving my taxi.

Have you ever had any famous passengers？

Oh yes. I've had film stars, politicians, you know, some famous people. About a year ago, a really famous actor got into my taxi. I took him to the airport. There was 3 traffic and we spent a long time getting there, so he missed his plane. It wasn't my fault but when he got out of the taxi, he said some things that were not very 4 to me! I said to him,  "Next time，take a bus!"

Have passengers ever 5 anything in your taxi？

Oh yes, all kinds of things in here, a suitcase, a hat, mobile phones of course, even a dog once! Years ago, a woman forgot a pair of shoes on the back seat. And one time some teeth here! Not real teeth of course, false teeth. And people have asked me to do some strange jobs. Once a doctor stopped me outside a hospital and asked me to take a skeleton （骨架） to the hospital in the countryside. And I did.But I asked the doctor to pay 6 the skeleton couldn't pay after all.

What's the worst part of your job？

Good question. I've always enjoyed being a taxi driver.But of course，sometimes，it's not great.I don't like driving around without a passenger, but it's better than just

 7 passengers at the airport or at a railway station.

Bob is a young man from Australia. He teaches PE in a primary school in Beijing. He has many hobbies. He likes listening to music, going hiking and playing sports.

Bob has a lovely dog. It's not big, but it's very clever. The dog likes running after Bob. Everywhere that Bob goes, the dog is sure to go.

It is a sunny day. Bob plays football with his friends on the playground. His dog goes with him and watches the match. After that, Bob wants to go home by car. His dog comes after him, but it doesn't run to the same car with Bob. It runs to another(另一辆)car. "Come here, foolish dog!" Bob is angry and shouts at it. But the dog still stays near another car. Bob puts his key into the lock (锁) of the car, but the key doesn't work. Then he looks at the car carefully. Oh! It is not his car! And the right car is near his dog!
