Zhou Jinrui and Harry are two middle school students in Hangzhou. They didn't have much money with them. But they have dreamed to visit Beijing for a long time. So they went to Beijing from Hangzhou by bike last summer holiday. They spent nearly one month on the bike travelling. The journey（旅程）was hard, but they felt happy.

 The capybara, a kind of animal from South America, is the largest living rodent(啮齿目动物) in the world. It lives along the lakes and rivers. It can grow up to about 1.3m etres long and weigh up to 79kg. It looks like a large mouse with a big nose, strong legs, small ears and a very short tail. Usually mouse-like animals may not be welcomed by other animals but the capybara always has a lot of different animals around it, because it's friendly to them. Do you know what makes the capybara such a friendly animal?

 As the largest rodent animal in the world, the capybara has only a few enemies(敌人). Because of this, it spends most of the day swimming in the water and lying by the river, together with other animals. It lives such a comfortable life that nothing seems to make it worry.

 For most animals, it's safe to stay around the capybara. The capybara never eats meat. It mainly eats fruit and some plants, so it won't hurt other animals. The capybara can even help other animals to keep safe. It can notice the danger more easily and the strong legs can help it run away more quickly. When other animals see that, they can also hide(躲藏) themselves in time.

 Sometimes, the capybara is happy to be"the animal bus". It's common to see other animals riding on the back of a capybara. That's because these animals can help make the capybara clean by eating the lice(虱子) on its body.

 Now the capybara is also becoming popular among people. Some people love the capybara so much that they want to keep it as a pet.

Some people have sensitive (敏感的) feet or skin. Others may have a hard time laughing at their own mistakes. Perhaps you live with someone like this. But can you imagine living with a sensitive plant?

 Now, imagine that your hand is a green plant stem(茎) and each of your fingers is a leaf. Use your other hand to touch your leaf fingers. One at a time, close each leaf finger. until you have made a fist. Quickly drop your hand down to your leg. Wait a little while, and then slowly bring your hand back to its original(原来的) position.

 It's just this kind of behavior that has made the sensitive plant get its name. Brush your fingers gently across the leaves of the sensitive plant, and the leaves at once fold up(合拢) like tiny green fingers. The stems drop down as if ready to fall off the plant. About ten minutes later, the leaves open again, and the stems rise again! Sensitive plants are easy to grow inside your house. They simply need to get plenty of water and sunlight. But touching the plant too often can cause the plant to lose its leaves. A sensitive plant that loses many of its leaves may become unhealthy.

 Imagine the fun you can have: introducing a friend to your plant! Have your friend stand close to the plant to tell it jokes. Touch your plant with a finger, and watch your friend's reaction when the plant seems to drop down slowly to say"no". Be sure to tell your friend the true cause of the plant's behavior later, though. You don't want your friend to become overly sensitive about his jokes!

③Also, many girls wear shoes with very high heels. They might think high heels make them look taller. But these shoes can actually hurt their feet and make it hard to walk comfortably, and it can increase risks of falls. Some even wear tight(紧的) clothes that influence blood circulation(循环), making it hard to breathe. Should we put fashion over comfort and physical health?

④Besides, some boys and girls spend a lot of time and money changing their hair color. The material they use is usually harmful to their health. To make their hair straight or curly, they also use tools that are hot enough to burn their hair. But using these tools too often or at very high temperatures can make the hair dry or even burnt. Is it really worth it to risk our health, spending so much time and money?

⑤So, let's rethink what's really important. Is it fashion or is it our well-being? Clothes or hairstyles don't tell us anything about a person's character. Instead of spending a lot of time choosing clothes, we could use that time to do fun things with friends. And instead of following extreme diets, let's eat properly and exercise regularly. Remember, your value is not decided by your appearance, but by who you are as a person.
