Han Hong is a famoussinger in China. She is always ready {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (help) those in need.

During the SpringFestival, 2020, a terrible disease(疾病) calledCOVID-19 broke out in Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei Province. Han Hong cancelledher concert {#blank#}2{#/blank#}once, which she had planned to put on in Wuhan on Feb. 29. Instead, she put {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (she) into thevolunteer work of helping those in need.

"When you'regoing through a situation {#blank#}4{#/blank#} this, you simply want to doanything you can to help. There {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (be) so many kind people outthere, "writes a fan, who raised money through Han's foundation(基金会). "It's good to know that there are trucks with medical {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (thing) goingstraight to the medical staff(人员). "

In 2008, Han Hong puton {#blank#}7{#/blank#}Charity (慈善)performance for Wenchuan, SichuanProvince, after a great earthquake. After that, she set {#blank#}8{#/blank#}her foundation- HanHong Love Charity Foundation.

Over the years, shehas helped lots of people in need, {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(include)an earthquake inYushu, Qinghai Province in 2010, an earthquake in Yingjiang County in 2011, anda poor community in Yunnan Province in March 2013.

"Many greatartists in the world are {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (know) for their great love.That's the amazing thing about human nature," Han said.

I was ten years old when my mother died. Ten years old on that very day, my mother organized a party for me at the hospital. She made sure everyone there brought me presents. 

Nurse Ms. Louise gave me a fountain pen. "Now you can write beautiful stories, Katie," She said. Then the twins in the same room gave me a pink diary. A little too cute for me. I mean, I read Stephen King, the novelist and wanted to write like him. There was one box they held out till the end. It was a large box, carefully wrapped (包裹) with exquisite paper and ribbons. "Who's it from?" I asked. 

"It's you," Mama mouthed, hard breathing, but she smiled a very small smile at me. I read her lips. She meant it was a present for me. 

"Of course, it is," I said happily. 

I took off the paper carefully. It was a beautiful box made of heavy cardboard. Then I opened it slowly and...

"It's empty," I said. "Is this a joke?" I turned to ask Mama, but she was gone, no breath. 

"Mama!" I cried. I screamed. 

I cried steadily for a week at night, and for about a year, I stopped writing and reading. I felt empty and angry. 

One night, I woke up remembering how she had said, "It's you." Not, "It's for you," just "It's you." Mama had been a writer herself. She didn't use words carelessly. But, why? 

I took the box out and opened it. It was as empty as the day I had put it away. 

 "It's you," I whispered to the box. Suddenly I knew. 

I was the box, solid and strong, maybe even beautiful on the outside. But I had to fill up the box to make it all it could be. I had to fill me up as well. 

Then ____. The first thing I put on paper was about that birthday. I kept it in the box, and pretty soon that box was overflowing with stories. And poems. And memories. 

And so was I.

A shoemaker sp ent his time in singing from morning till night. It was wonderful to see, wonderful to hear. He was very pleased.

However, his neighbor—a banker, who was very rich, sang little and slept less. When by chance he fell into a light sleep in the early morning, the shoema ker woke him up with his song. The banker complained(抱怨) sadly that God had not made sleep a saleable thing, like food or drink, that people can buy with money. At last he sent for the singer. He said to him,"How much money a year do you make, Master Gregory?"

"How much a year, sir?"said the happy shoemaker laughing,"I have never thought in that way, living as I dofrom one day to another; somehow I manage to reach the end of the year; each day brings its meal."

"Well then! How much money a day do you make, my friend?"

"Sometimes more, sometimes less. But the worst of it is that we can't work a few days in the year, or we willmake more."

The banker said with a laugh,"In the future I shall place you above what you want. Take these hundred gold coins, keep them carefully, and make use of them in time of need."

The shoemaker was surprised to have all so much money. Returning home, he buried(埋藏) his money and his happiness at the same time. No more singing, he lost his voice at the moment he got his money. Sleep left him and cares, worries, and fears took its place. All day, he kept his eye on his money from time to time; and at night, if some cat made a noise, he thought someone stealing his money. At last the poor man ran to the house of his rich neighbor. He said,"____."

He was happy again.

Jenny is my classmate. She is an active but a little shy girl. She always dreams of becoming a  1 . Last week, our classmates and I decided to help Jenny realize her dream. We 2 a wonderful idea to record a short interview video. We used a pen instead of the microphone. We didn't have a video3 , either. So I took the video with a mobile phone.

Mrs. Morris lives on the top floor of our building. Every afternoon，she sits in a chair near the door of1 building. She always wears a smile and listens to me when I tell her about my days at school. 

One Tuesday，I ran into the building and hoped 2 my day with her，but her usual chair was empty.

Every year, Australia hosts a 543. 7-mile-long ultra-marathon(超级马拉松) race. 

In 1983, a potato farmer named Cliff Young showed up at the start of the race. People {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(意识到) that he was 61 years old and the race was dangerous for him. Cliff Young might {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(死) of tiredness, so some people tried to stop him.

When Cliff Young was awarded the winning prize of $10, 000, he said he {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(实在；的确) didn't know there was a prize. He gave away his prize money to the rest of the runners after him. 

After the win, Cliff Young {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(参加) many ultra- marathon races to raise money for homeless children. His running style which is still popular {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(在国外) is called " The Cliff Shuffle".
