NO matter what happens,I'll always be there for you!

    In 1989, an8.2earthquake almost destroyed America, killing over 30,000 people in less thanfour minutes. In the midst of utter devastation and chaos, a father left hiswife safely at home and rushed to the school where his son was supposed to be,only to discover that the building was as flat as a pancake.

    After the unforgettablyscare, he remembered the promise he had made to his son: "No matter what,I'll always be there for you!" And tears began to fill his eyes. As helooked at the badly damaged building that once was the school, it lookedhopeless, but he kept remembering his promise to his son

    He began to direct hisattention to where he walked his son to class at school each morning.Remembering his son's classroom would be in the back right comer of thebuilding, he rushed there and started digging through the ruins, As he wasdigging, other helpless parents tried to pull him off what was left of theschool, saying," It's too late! They're all dead! You can't help! Co home!Come on! Face reality. Here's nothing you can do!

    To each parent hereplied with one line, "Are you going to help me now?" And then hecontinued to dig for his son, stone by stone. The firefighter leader showed upand tried to pull him off the school's ruins saying, "Fires are breakingout. Explosions are happening everywhere. You are in danger. We'll take care ofit. Go home." To which this loving, caring American father asked,"Are you going to help me now?" The police came and said, "You'reangry, worried and it's over. You're making others in danger. Go home. We'llhandle it!" To which he replied, "Are you going to help me now?"No one replied.

    He went on alone becausehe needed to know for himself "is my boy alive or is he dead?" He dugfor eight hours … 12 hours ... 24 hours … 36 hours … then, in the 38th hour, hepulled back a large stone and heard his son's voice. He screamed his son'sname, "Armand!" He heard back, "Dad? It's me, Dad! I told theother kids not to worry. I told them that if you were alive, you would save meand when you saved me, they'd be saved. You promised, no matter what happens,you'll always be there for me. You did it, Dad!" "What's going on inthere? How is it?" the father asked, "There are 14 of us left out of33, Dad. We're scared, hungry, thirsty and thankful you're here. When thebuilding fell down, it made a triangle, and it saved us."

    "Come out,boy!" "No, Dad! Let the other kids out first because I know you'llget me! No matter what happens, I know you'll always be there for me!"

I am Frank. I lost my pencil box this morning. I look for it everywhere but I can't find it. So I ask my friend Linda for help. She doesn't know where it is. She says I can go to the lost and found box in the library to find it. After lunch, I go to the library.

I meet my classmates Lucy and Bob there. Lucy lost her ID card and Bob lost his soccer ball in P.E. class and they found them in the lost and found box. When I get to the lost and found box, I see Mrs. Wang there.

I ask, "Excuse me, Mrs. Wang, is my blue pencil box here?"

"Here are two blue pencil boxes. What's in your pencil box?" she asks.

"There is a black pen, a red pen, a yellow pencil, an eraser ... And there is a photo of my family. My parents, my sister and I are in the photo." I say.

"Let me see. This is yours. Here you are." Mrs. Wang says.

"Can I know who hands(交) it in here? I want to thank him / her," I ask.

"A student does. But I don't know the name."

I say "Thank you very much" to Mrs. Wang and get my pencil box from her. I say to myself, "I must help others(别人), too."

In a village near a desert lived a young and successful businessman named James. He often felt {#blank#}1{#/blank#} because of the endless challenges he faced.

One day, a wise old man came to the village with 100 camels(骆驼). James went to see him and said,"I always have business worries, family troubles and health problems. Please tell me how to make them {#blank#}2{#/blank#}."

The next morning, the old man asked James how his night went. James said sadly,"I didn't sleep at all. No matter how {#blank#}5{#/blank#} I tried, I couldn't get all the camels to sit together. Even if I managed to get some camels to sit on one side, a few others would stand on the other side."" That's true. Some camels sat down on their own, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} others required some effort, and yet many camels did not sit even after quite a lot of effort," the old man said.

James nodded.

The old man continued," Your problems are just {#blank#}7{#/blank#} the camels. There are always some problems that cannot get solved even if you' ve tried your best. Leave such problems to time until one day they themselves come to an end."

James felt a sense of understanding. It completely changed the way he saw life's challenges.

Perry is one of the Australia's most famous women cricketers(板球运动员). She shares her ideas about having dreams and how to make them come true.

 In Perry's view, a dream has to be realistic(现实的). It has to be something you can actually do. " When I was a little girl, I dreamed of being a musician and giving concerts(音乐会) to people from all over the world. But that's not realistic because I'm not good at it, Perry said.

 Finally, Perry tells us that confidence(自信心) is what gets you through the hardest times. " While facing problems, don't lose heart. Always have confidence in yourself and believe in yourself. When you believe you can, you really can," she said.

Here is a nice story about Kuang Heng. When he is young，his family is very poor. He has to do a lot of 1 in the day time.
