When you're not at home, many worries may come to your mind. Did I turn the light off? Did I lock (锁) the door? With a smart home, you can keep away from all of these worries in the future.

A smart home is a home with a network(网络).The network connects(连接)with lights and TV sets, so that people connect them from far away by lines, mobile phone or WiFi over the Internet.

More and more people may want to have a smart home, because it makes life much more convenient. It can help keep your room at a certain temperature. It can record what happens inside your home and send the video to your phone. When you are on holiday in other countries, you can use a smart home controller to turn on or off the electricity when necessary. Some smart homes can receive a visitor, make him come in and service him a drink. They can even feed the cat and water the plants.

Besides, smart homes are easy to fix. When a problem happens, you can deal with it yourself. However, for home-users, the smart home is not perfect. It can be rather expensive to have it. Also, because the smart home system (系统)makes its owner to get home information from anywhere, hackers(黑客)may enter into the smart home easily, and they may use or change their information in the system. Now, many people are excited at the future of the smart home.

There are others who worry that the smart home will make people lazier and lonelier. But anyway, one thing is for sure--the smart home will change the way we live and work.

Graceland

Graceland is in Tennessee. The singer and actor Elvis Presley once owned it. His daughter has {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(控制) it since his death. It is located in the Whitehaven community(社区). It opened to the {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(公众) as a museum on 7th June 1982. Since then, great {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(变化) have taken place in Graceland. Thousands of visitors have visited the Meditation Garden where Elvis Presley was interred(埋葬). 

MoPOP

The Museum of Pop Culture is one of the must-see places if you go to Seattle. The {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(整个) building covers an area of 140, 000 square feet. MoPOP is meant to convey(传达) all the {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(能量) and beauty of music. Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(创立) it in 2000 as the Experience Music Project. Since then MoPOP has held lots of music {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(展览会) around the world. Seventeen of them have toured across the US and around the world.

Dubai is a city of big business now. In the early 20th century, Dubai {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(be) only a successful trading port. Many people from the world {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (stop) in Dubai to do business. But it was still a small city, and most people {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (work) as fishermen and businessmen. Then in the middle 20th century, oil was discovered. This {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (bring) a lot of money into the area, and soon Dubai began to change. 

Today Dubai is one of the world's most important business centres. So far, more and more visitors from other countries {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(come) to Dubai. They come here {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(relax) on its beaches or go shopping. 

Dubai is also one of the world's fastest growing cities. People {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (build ) many tall buildings in months. Many people welcome the city's growth. But some people also worry about the speed of the change. They think they must always work hard, because everything {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(depend) on hard work, not on amusement. I really like Dubai and I am sure I {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(visit) it some day. Then, would you like to visit Dubai?

China's Colorful"Dead Sea"

 Xiechi Lake(解池), also known as Yuncheng Salt Lake in China's Shanxi province, has become popular on Instagram and other social media websites in recent years because of eye-popping aerial photographs of its colorful surface.

 Now, China wants to convert that online popularity into real-life tourism. The first step is to advertise it to Chinese domestic travelers.

 Recent tourism campaigns on Chinese social media sites including Weibo and WeChat refer to Xiechi as"China' s Dead Sea" and promote both its beauty and its healing properties(特性).

"It's the Chinese version of Israel's Dead Sea. Floating here is an unforgettable experience, and one you can't find anywhere else," reads a tourism ad. One honor stands out as a sign of the lake' s endorsement(公开支持) at the highest levels: Xiechi Lake was featured in a 2019 Chinese TV special celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

 How was this wondrous lake formed? You might ask. There are three kinds of salt lakes in the world: carbonate(碳酸盐), chloride(氯化物) and sulfate(硫酸盐). The Dead Sea and the Great Salt Lake in Utah are both chloride lakes. Yuncheng, however, falls into the last group.

"If the sulfate in your water is greater than the calcium (钙), all the calcium is used up, which leaves you with an excess of sulfate, and then you have a sulfate lake," explains Bernie Owen, a geography professor at Hong Kong Baptist University.

 Xiechi is also a"closed basin" lake. It doesn't flow out to a river or ocean, which explains why its salt content is able to stay so high.

 But what about those gorgeous colors that have made the lake so popular with photographers? They have to do with the species of animals and plants living in the water.

"If you' ve got brine shrimp(卤虫) in the water, you tend to get red colors," says Owen. "There's a microscopic animal called a rotifer(轮虫), and that will give a purple color.[You also] tend to get purples with green algae(绿藻类). And then greens or oranges[occur] in very saline(咸的) lakes."

 Besides the scenery, the mud bath is a big draw. According to a statement from the Yuncheng city government, the black mud in the lake has restorative properties-just like Dead Sea mud.

 There's some good news for wannabe travelers who hope to visit Xiechi Lake— it isn't yet as popular or crowded as other tourist spots in China.
