Do you live near Farnham Forest? Do you want to help protect the e{#blank#}1{#/blank#}? If so, just join Friends of Farnham Forest. We're a group of volunteers who look a{#blank#}2{#/blank#}the Farnham Forest. Our group is o{#blank#}3{#/blank#}to people of all ages. We provide you with a great chance to meet new people and do some good for the planet!

Our m{#blank#}4{#/blank#} meet every Sunday. The first Sunday of each month is clean-up day. We p{#blank#}5{#/blank#} up rubbish along the trails(小路) of the forest. On the second Sunday, we listen to a lecture(讲座) about the plants and a{#blank#}6{#/blank#} of the forest. On the third Sunday, we pull up any weeds(杂草) we find growing along the trails. On the last Sunday of each month, we invite some student volunteers to take part in our tree planting or forest cleaning a{#blank#}7{#/blank#}.

Weather: cool and windy

This morning, Uncle Bob and I went on a ride in his helicopter(直升机). The helicopter lifted us up gently and quickly. It was fast. 

First, we were over Whiteway. I saw many factories there. There was a lot of smoke from the factories. The air was dirty. Then we flew to Blueway. I saw many buildings there. I also saw a river beside a large park. The air in the field was clean. After that we flew to Yellowway. There were many construction sites (建筑工地) and a lot of dust (灰尘). The air was very dirty. 

At last we flew back to Greenway. There were many ships in the harbour (港口). The air in Greenway was also very dirty. Our city is beautiful, but the air is dirty. We must keep it clean.

Elephants are very large animals. They eat only plants. Baby elephants drink milk from their mother up to three years. Elephants like to live in groups. Some stay with their family even when they grow up. A family group has two to eight animals. Elephants are very big and heavy, but they are very good swimmers. They are very strong, too. They can do many things with their long trunks (象鼻), and they are helpful.

In the past, there were many elephants, but now there are fewer and fewer (越来越少). People hunt them for their tusks. They use them to make ivory products (象牙制品). In Thailand, people use elephants to carry heavy things, and they also train (训练) them for a show. Many elephants hurt badly or die because of the training. In 2003, there were only about 30, 000 Asian elephants in the world. To protect elephants, we shouldn't buy ivory products. We shouldn't watch elephant shows.

The park is very dirty. There is trash everywhere.

As we all know, there isn't enough(足够的) clean water for people. Many people lose their lives because of a shortage(缺乏) of water. In a lot of countries, people cut down trees for living, so there's nothing to keep water from running away. And we face more and more floods(洪水) and droughts(干旱). Also, we have polluted(污染) the land, the river and the air. It is time that we must do something useful to protect the environment. We can plant trees and take good care of them. We can save the water and ask our parents to do so. We can't throw any litter (垃圾 ) onto the ground and we should collect it for recycling. If we take good care of the Earth today, it can be more beautiful tomorrow.
