Two simple words "thank you" have made a big difference to thousands of firemen in New York City.

Savannah is {#blank#}1{#/blank#}girl from Texas. "I was trying to think {#blank#}2{#/blank#}I could help them out," she says. After {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(hear) about sacrifices (牺牲) made by firemen, she was moved by the risks they face. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}Savannah made 200thank-you cards for them. "I want to show how much I care about them."

"I told the firemen thank you," Savannah recalls. "They're always there to help us."

Savannah {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (decide) to keep making cards. For the next seven {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (month), she woke up early to paint and colour and cut. In that time, she sent 1,600 cards {#blank#}7{#/blank#}bite-sized candies while meeting these heroes. Soon, fire stations started thanking the girl.

Once too shy to talk to others at school, it is now easy for {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (she) to communicate with firemen and school students. And she can even give a speech in public. She is quite {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(difference) from what she used to be. "She's saying how thankful she is for them!" Savannah's mum, Debbie, says, "Savannah sees that stepping out and doing something can {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(true) make a difference."

Liu Ling, a mother of three, is {#blank#}3{#/blank#} good example. She is one of the hard- working and wise Chinese {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (woman). Liu Ling was born in Jiangxi Province. When she {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(grow) up, she worked in a clothes factory in Hangzhou. 

After she got married, she moved to Xi' an. Now she is working in {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (she) husband's family business. She is a mother who has three children. In order to give them a good life and education, she works as hard {#blank#}7{#/blank#} she can. 

She does really {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (good) in her work. She has to carry window frames(窗框) which are {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (heavy) than her. At present, Liu Ling has a window and door factory in Xi' an and enough products every year. She can make 50, 000 yuan per month, but she {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (hope) she can make more money as her children grow older. 

I have many hobbies, and one of them is drawing. I {#blank#}1{#/blank#} pictures for three years. If I sit quietly in one place, I can draw for hours. Drawing keeps me busy and relaxes my mind. However, no one knows {#blank#}2{#/blank#} I love drawing so much. 

In the past, I didn't like communicating with others because I thought that compared with talking with others, I {#blank#}3{#/blank#} to show my feelings quietly, so I didn't have any friends. Sometimes I even felt  {#blank#}4{#/blank#} about it. 

Drawing is not just a way for me to spend the time. It has shown me the best way to share my ideas and feelings  {#blank#}5{#/blank#} I started it. It has helped me connect more with nature {#blank#}6{#/blank#} helped me feel its beauty. Trees, birds, animals, rivers, and clouds are something that I like to draw. 

So far, I {#blank#}7{#/blank#} my own way of drawing. My art teacher always praises(表扬) me and{#blank#}8{#/blank#} me many useful drawing skills. At the same time, my parents and friends encourage me as well. 

Before I started to draw, I didn't know what my future plan  {#blank#}9{#/blank#} . Now, my future plan is to become a real artist. I believe that it is possible {#blank#}10{#/blank#}I keep practising hard. So I will keep drawing for the rest(其余) of my life.
