My mother is a teacher in a middle school. She {#blank#}1{#/blank#} for a long time every day. She gets up, early in the morning. After she brushes her {#blank#}2{#/blank#}, it's about thirty {#blank#}3{#/blank#}running. Then she has breakfast and goes to work.My mother is very busy, so she has lunch at school. After work, she goes home and we have dinner together. Sometimes we eat out. She likes{#blank#}4{#/blank#}a walk or listening to music after dinner. On Saturday evenings, she often goes to the movies with me. It's{#blank#}5{#/blank#}for us. On Sundays, she likes making all kinds of delicious food for the family.

It was our school's yearly dancing show. I  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(be) excited that the teacher chose me this time although I didn't have any experience of dancing for a show. I would dance in front of all the students and  {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(teacher). It made me very proud(感到自豪的).

However, I was a bit sad  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}my father had no time to watch me dance. He had a business meeting that day. I knew that my father would surely come to my show if he could.  {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (lucky), my mother and my elder sister came to watch the show. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}the start of the day, I was very nervous. After putting on the dress and getting my make-up done, I felt much  {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(calm). Then I went on to the stage bravely. I was very glad to see my mother and sister sitting in  {#blank#}7{#/blank#}second row. Just before the lights turned dark, I saw my father rush into the hall and take the seat beside my mother.

 {#blank#}8{#/blank#}a pleasant surprise it was! The sight of my father made  {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(I) smile.

I began  {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(dance) confidently. I was so happy and lucky to have my family's support.

Jing Baoshan，69，lives a quiet life in Pinglu County， "Baoshan" 1 "protecting the mountains"，something he seems to have been doing in his life. 

In 1970，the then 17-year-old 2 the army and became a soldier. After 17 years，Jing3 to his I hometown in Pinglu and worked as a forest ranger （护林员）. He worked there for 25 years until he retired in 2012.4 his 25 years of service，he worked alone most of the time and met a number of5 situations. Fighting forest fires was one of them. 

In 2000，he was patrolling （巡逻） when he found one fire. He called for6 from the closest village. As more firemen made their way，Jing and five farmers were7 the fire when the wind suddenly changed direction. Four of the farmers8 . Jing and the surviving farmer were9 hurt. He felt very sad for those farmers' deaths and that was one of the reasons why he decided to devote （奉献） the rest of his life to the forest. 

On October 1^st ， 2019，Jing was invited to the ceremony10 the 70th anniversary （周年纪念）of the founding of the People' s Republic of China. He said he would11 forget it for the rest of his life. 

Now，Jing continues to12 the forest as a volunteer at least once every two weeks. Smart GPS plays a very important role in keeping the rangers13 today. Jing believes the14 show the country's development. More importantly，he said that people are now coming to15 the importance of a well﹣ protected environment. 

In a small village in Henan, there is a cool teacher named Zhang Jiantao. He teaches science at a primary school in the village. Mr. Zhang loves working on experiments (实验) with his students and making them laugh and learn at the same time. 

Mr. Zhang's experiments are so fun that the kids can't wait for the next one. They often ask, " When can we do science experiments, Mr. Zhang?" Mr. Zhang notices their excitement and tries to do more. He enjoys it when he sees the kids excited about science. 

Mr. Zhang doesn't have enough equipment ( 器 材 ) for his experiments in the school, but that doesn't stop him! He uses what he has around him, " Old bottles can be helpful in our experiments!" says Mr. Zhang. " We can turn waste into treasure. " He shows the kids that old bottles can come in handy for many experiments. He uses them to create amazing things, like water rockets. With little money and plenty of waste, he is trying his best to make science easy and fun to learn. 

As time passes, Mr. Zhang's passion(激情) for teaching science grows stronger. He wants more kids to

learn and have fun with science, especially in the countryside. He wants to share his experiments with other teachers. He dreams of creating a science textbook for them. That way, more kids can enjoy the wonders of science, just like his students. 

Frank is my good friend. He is kind and loves animals. One day, he sees a {#blank#}1{#/blank#} cat sitting at his door. The cat {#blank#}2{#/blank#} sad (伤心的) and hungry. Frank thinks it must be lost. He decides (决定) to help the cat find {#blank#}3{#/blank#} home. 

He calls the Lost and Found office. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} they say no one loses a cat. Then he asks his friends next door. And they say they don't {#blank#}5{#/blank#} their cats, either. He wants to ask his parents for help so he brings it home. However, they're not {#blank#}6{#/blank#} home. He has to put it in a box and gives it some {#blank#}7{#/blank#} to eat. That night, Frank can't sleep {#blank#}8{#/blank#} because he keeps thinking about the cat. 

The next morning, he has an idea! He puts up Lost and Found notices (启事) in his neighborhood. In {#blank#}9{#/blank#} afternoon, a girl named Anna calls Frank and tells him that it is her cat. She also says {#blank#}10{#/blank#} to him. Frank is very glad that the cat can go back home. 

Wang Xiaojun, 49, has a small hotel in Pingyao, a county in Shanxi. She opened it in 2002. This January, Wang got an email from her friend Bernard Frigara in France. "I just want to tell you how much I miss Pingyao, you and your family. I love to walk around Pingyao and ride a bicycle there. . . " the 75-year-old artist wrote in the e-mail. 

When Frigara first visited Pingyao in 2004, he stayed in Wang's hotel. In less than 20 years, Frigara went to Pingyao six times, and he stayed in Wang's hotel everytime, for one or two months at a time. 

Wang and her family showed Frigara around Pingyao, washed clothes for him and celebrated(庆祝) his birthday. Once when Frigara didn't feel well, Wang took him to hospital. He wrote in his diary that he stayed in a wonderful hotel and that he felt at home there. In    return, Frigara taught Wang French and bought gifts for her children. Wang described her French friend as a kind and helpful man. 

Not long ago, Wang wrote a story between Frigara and her family named Wafting for you, my friend. "He will come to Pingyao again in the spring of 2024, " she said.
