Sadie was on a basketball game on a wheelchair. The game had only just started, but Sadie had collided (碰撞) twice with another player's wheelchair. The coach waved Sadie off court (球场). The disappointed crowd behind her began to laugh.

Sadie tried not to cry in front of all those people. She was upset that her brother, Richie, was absent from her important game, and it showed in her playing.

Richie was Sadie's whole world. Sadie had loved to play basketball before her accident, and it was Richie who taught her to play again. At first, she was so upset that she did not want to get out of bed. Richie was always there to encourage her to play basketball again. He even borrowed a wheelchair for himself to help her practice.

But lately, Richie preferred to hang out with his new high school friends. Sadie would watch from the house as he washed his new car. When he drove away, tears filled Sadie's eyes. Sadie's mother saw that she was sad. "Your brother still loves you," she said. "He has new friends now, but he still cares about you." But Sadie still felt hurt.

Sadie looked up and searched for her mother in the crowd. She was surprised to see her mother smiling. Then out of the corner of her eye, Sadie saw a familiar boy running across the gym toward her. It was Richie! He was holding some flowers. Richie handed her the flowers with a smile.

"But we're losing," said Sadie. "Why are you giving me flowers?" she asked.

"That's not important," said Richie. "What I know is that you're a great player, and there is no way I'm going to miss your big game! It's great to have new friends, but I realized that you're my best friend."

Sadie smiled and went back to the game. With her brother watching, Sadie got the ball from another player. Then she scored the first amazing goal.

My name is Mary. I'm a teacher. It's 9 o'clock on Monday. My class begins. There is a boy in my class. His name is Bob. I ask Bob, "I get some apples from a fruit seller*. And I give you one apple and one apple and one apple. How many apples have you got?"

After some time, Bob says, "Four. "

I say, "Please listen to me carefully. It's not difficult. I give you one apple and one apple and one apple. How many apples have you got?"

"Four, " Bob says. 

I remember Bob likes carrots. Then I say, "I give you one carrot and one carrot and then one carrot. How many carrots have you got?"

"Three?"

"Four. "

"How? Please tell me. How?" I ask. 

"Because I already have an apple in my bag, " says Bob. 

Now I think Bob gives the right answer all the time. 

Tom is an English boy. He is from London. He likes China very much and speaks a little Chinese, He is a student in No. 17 Middle School. He is in Class 2. His sister, Kate is in No. 8 Middles School. She is in Class 4. Wang Lan and Wang Pin are his classmates. They often help Tom with his Chinese and Tom helps them to learn English.

Today, Tom has two new classmates. They are Lucy and Lily. They come from the USA. They are twins (双胞胎) . They look the same. They are twelve. But Tom is not well and he is not at school. Wang Lan and Wang Pin look after Lucy and Lily. They are all friends.

Colours can affect（影响）our feelings（感受），so knowing something about colours can help us find the right colours in our rooms.

It is easy to see red in Chinese rooms. It means happiness（幸福）. But if your bedroom is red, you may not sleep well. It's an active colour and makes us want to play sport.

Orange is a good choice（选择）for a dining room. People like having dinner and talking together in an orange room.

If you are a student，ask your parents to paint your study（书房）yellow. Yellow can help you think fast. You may be more confident（更自信的）.

You probably don't know that many of the walls of the rooms in the hospitals are blue. Why？Because blue can make sick（生病的）people feel quiet. They can have a good rest and become well soon. So use it    in your bedroom and you can have a good sleep.

①Will your school change a lot in the future? Will you have a robot teacher? What will your school life be like in 50 years?

②When you get to the new school, you will find that there is no teacher speaking in the front of the classroom. There will be a big screen playing a video of a teacher. A robot may walk around the classroom and help you with your problems. You can get the best teaching there. You will listen to the teacher for only about 20 minutes. Then you will work in groups to solve problems together. 

③You will have a special desk to keep your things. It can be like a fridge to keep your lunch fresh and a microwave(微波炉) to warm it up. 

④Your classroom will always be cool in summer and warm in winter. There is solar and wind power on the top of the teaching building. Each room can stay at a comfortable temperature(温度). 

⑤You can also consider(看作) your daily life as part of your school life. Because you can learn things from robot teachers, too. For example(例如), if you need to learn about cooking and washing dishes, you can go home and spend time in the kitchen with your home robot. 

⑥The school in the future will be quite different, and it is sure to be a great place to stay in. 

In many English homes people eat four meals a day: breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner. 

People have breakfast at any time from seven to nine in the morning. They eat porridge, eggs or bread. English people drink tea or coffee at breakfast. 

Lunch comes at one o'clock. Afternoon tea is from four to five in the afternoon. And dinner is about half past seven. First they have soup, and then they have meat or fish with vegetables. After that they eat some other things, like bananas, apples or oranges. But not all English people eat like that. Some of them have their dinner in the middle of the day. Their meals are breakfast, dinner, tea and supper and these meals are very simple（简单的）.
