Lisa has always been overweight. She wanted to lose weight, not just because she wanted to 1 more beautiful and healthier, but also because it would make life easier. For example, it was 2 for Lisa to find ready-made clothes that would fit. She had to ask a tailor(裁缝) to make clothes that were large enough. At school, she needed a special chair which was bigger and 3 than the other chairs. If she went for a walk, she got tired very quickly. She was also unhappy about the way people 4 her sometimes. "People look at me and even make fun of me. That's5 ! It's true that I'm overweight, but I don't think people should treat me differently because I'm big. I can't enjoy having dinner with my friends because I'm afraid of getting fatter. " Her friends and family 6 made fun of her. They tried to help her 7 . They wanted her to be happy and healthy. Sometimes when Lisa was feeling sad, she didn't want to speak to anyone.

But now things are quite different. Last month her classmates were preparing for the School 8  Week. Someone advised Lisa to play the lead role of the proud Queen(女王) who was tall and fat. Lisa 9  it and practiced a lot. 

Soon after the play, Lisa became the 10 ! She did so well that everybody remembered the proud Queen. They stood around her and said"Congratulations!"to her. She even won the School Best Actress Award for her wonderful performance.

Now Lisa doesn't worry about being fat any more. She believes in the English saying"Every dog has its day. "

I walk near my house，and I see a man sitting on the ground，hitting（敲打）some﹣thing with a stone. I ask him what he does. He answers he is hitting some bread. He wants to make food for the birds. The large bread is difficult for the birds to eat，so he hits it into small pieces. 

He does it every night by himself. He doesn't understand why we are interested in the thing he is doing. For him，it is just a small thing. He also leaves（留下）some water here for the birds. 

I ask him why he does this. He says， " It's just something small I do so that the bread won't become litter but food for birds. "I tell his story to my friends. I hope it can encourage（鼓励）many people to start something like this. 

If everyone does such a thing，our world may become good and beautiful. 

Barry lives in the west African nation of Guinea (几内亚). He wanted to study at one of the best schools in Cairo, Egypt, but he didn't have money to pay for the bus or train. Then, Barry drew a map of Africa and started his trip on a second- hand mountain bike.

With only a few clothes, a flashlight(手电筒), and a small tool, the 25- year- old young man rode more than 4,000 kilometers across Africa, in the hope of getting into the school and finding a way to pay for it.

Four months later, he arrived in Cairo and got a full scholar(全额奖学金) to the school." If you have a dream, keep with it and be strong," Barry said.

Barry rode about 100 kilometers each day. He rode through(经过) Mali, Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin, Niger and Chad. After the long ride through those countries, his luck came in Chad. There, a kind man read about his trip online and helped him fly straight to Egypt. With his help, Barry arrived in Cairo successfully(成功地) and days later got a full scholarship to the school.

Barry wants to go back to Guinea when he finishes his studies." When I go back to my country, I would like to be a teacher. I want to tell people how to do good things," he says.

We were silently waiting on the platform（站台） in the late afternoon.There he was，my1 grandfather with his grey hair and there I was，a teenage girl in my jeans and T﹣shirt.I was wondering how I was going to get through the next two days.Why did I agree to be with my strange grandpa on the two days' train ride from our city to2 ？

No one else wanted to be his partner along3 way since my grandfather refused to take a plane.Unlike him，I loved to fly because I wanted to get to the destinations（目的地） as4 as possible.No matter how much he 5 about the quickness of flying，my grandfather refused to book a flight，saying， "It is not just about time.It's the experience of getting there. "
