Thereare many interesting stories between Father and Son.

Oneday, Father and Son were walking slowly1 a river, suddenly Son cried, "Daddy,look, there is a woman falling into the river!"Without thinking too much,Father jumped into the water and2tothe woman, "Don't worry, lady. I'm a good swimmer and I will try my bestto save you." Father pulled the woman on to the bank (岸边). He was3but happy. But the lady was not thankfulto Father at all; instead, she slapped Father heavily. She jumped into wateragain. Oops! This was a4competition !

Itwas snowing5, but Son was very happy. He spent a lotof time making a snowman with Father. It was tall and big. Son liked it verymuch. But at night, someone6the snowman down. When Son saw this thenext morning, he cried sadly. Father was angry and decided to find out who didthis. He was dressed as a snowman and stood by the road. One man came here andwanted to push the snowman again. Bang! The snowman kicked his ass. "Oh,my god! I met a ghost! "The man ran away quickly.

Onemorning, Son told Father he didn't7well.Father brought some warm water to Son and asked him to have a good rest, andthen Father hurried out to8some medicine; but on his way to themedicine shop,he found that he9hismoney at home. When he opened the door, he found Son10thecat happily .Father was so angry that he told Son to go to school at once.

I'm Cindy. I'm in No. 3 Middle School now. We are very{#blank#}1{#/blank#} this term because we have many{#blank#}2{#/blank#} to do. On September 21st, we{#blank#}3{#/blank#} an art festival. It's very interesting. Then{#blank#}4{#/blank#} English teacher, Jack's birthday party is{#blank#}5{#/blank#} September, too. I like October and December{#blank#}6{#/blank#} we have two ball games. The soccer game{#blank#}7{#/blank#} on October 10th and the volleyball game is on December 18th. Volleyball is my{#blank#}8{#/blank#} sport. It is really fun. And many{#blank#}9{#/blank#} love November because we have a school trip on November 8th. That's relaxing! I love my school. What about{#blank#}10{#/blank#} school? Are you busy this term?

There are twelve months in a year. My favorite 1 is October. First, October 1st is National Day. It's an important festival in China. Everyone is free and 2 on this day. We have  a seven- day holiday(假期). During the holiday, my 3 often take me to see my grandparents in the countryside (乡村). 4 , there are some interesting and fun things in 5 . On the12th, we have a soccer game. I love playing soccer but I don't love basketball 6 it's difficult for me. On October 20th, we have a 7 sale. I have three old books and I want to 8 them there. Then we have a ( an) 9 festival on October 29th. We can draw many beautiful pictures. My birthday is also on this day. October is a really 10 month for me!

A student asked his teacher," Sir, I have a question. How many friends should a man have- one or many?"

" It is very easy," the teacher answered." Get me that red apple

from the highest(最高的) branch(树枝) of the tree." The student looked up and said," It's too high! I can't get it."

" Ask a friend to help." the teacher said.

 The student called a friend and stood on his shoulders(肩膀) for the branch.

"I still can't get it, sir," said the student sadly after the first try.

" Don't you have more friends?" the teacher smiled.

 The student asked more friends to come over. They stood on each other's shoulders, trying to make a pyramid(金字塔) to get higher. But the student still couldn't get the apple. Then one of the friends went home, brought a ladder(梯子) and the student finally picked the apple.

After getting the apple, the teacher asked," So, do you know how many friends a man needs?"

"I do," the student said." Many, so together we can work out any problem."

" Sounds good," the teacher said." You need as many friends as you can. Among (在…之中) them, there will be at least(至少) one clever man who can think of a good idea, like getting a ladder!"

Martin is my youngest son. He likes staying alone and he seldom laughs. As the boy's mother, I was 1 about him. I took him to see the 2 in many hospitals, but it didn't work well. 

Nothing could make him happy except the recycling truck（垃圾回收车） passing by my house. Every afternoon, he raced to the front of the house, waiting 3 the truck. 

When we were late and 4 the truck, Martin would be very disappointed. One day, I stopped the truck and introduced 5 . 

"Nice to meet you, too. I'm Vince, " the driver greeted me in a happy 6 . 

"Your coming is the most exciting moment for my son, "I smiled. 

After knowing our story, he said, "7 you please give me your phone number? Maybe I can send you a message 8 I arrive. "

Then began our friendship with Vince. 

Recently, I said to him, "It's my little boy's birthday tomorrow. Can you do 9 special for him?

The next day, as I was standing by the driveway with Martin, we saw the 10 truck running down the street with a loud beep（嘟嘟声）. Like a superman in a movie, Vince stopped and walked towards us with a box in his hand. 

"Today is your birthday, Martin, and here's a gift. "

He handed the box to my son. Inside, there was a green model truck like his. My son, surprised, looked up 11 and thanked him. 

After chatting for several 12 , he was about to leave for work. I tried to give him some 13 for his help. He kept shaking his head and 14 my money, saying, "Today you, tomorrow me. "

I was deeply moved（感动） by these15 words. And I have been ready to help others whenever I can. You will never know when you're going to be the one that needs help. 

I was doing the work in the garden yesterday. It was a soft evening and I was   making the most of it when I heard a neighbor's voice coming from the path out of our garden. 

I found there was a man lying on his back on the path with his eyes closed. I   recognized him. I had seen him doing the drunkard's(酒鬼) walk along that path several times. 

I stopped to walk out. " Do you need some help?"I asked. 

He opened his eyes and said, " Probably. " Then he told me because of arthritis(关节炎) he couldn't walk well at the most of times. I thought I should do it when he asked to help him go home where he lived a few hundred metres away. 

I tried to let him walk under his own strength with me guiding him but that   was getting us nowhere. It was easier to carry him, but that would be a real insult(侮辱) to him. So, I held his left hand with my left hand and grabbed his belt with my right hand. Then we started walking slowly. 

On the way he told me his name, what he had worked as, what holidays he had been, how wonderful his granddaughter was, what his wife's name was, and what a hard time she would give him when he got home!

Thank goodness! His wife wasn't in when we walked forty- five minutes back to his home. 

If we wait until we feel good about helping before we help, then people will go unhelped and we will become the ones who end up walking on by.
