 In order to make our school life more colourful, our school plans to start some radio programmes. 

Here comes autumn!It is the third season of the year. In China, autumn starts in September.  It is still a little warm, but it gets colder and colder. The days also get shorter and shorter. The leaves on the trees begin to turn yellow and red. The air is fresh. It's a great season for kids to play outside. What do children do in autumn in different countries?

In China, students often have an autumn picnic. Usually, they go out into nature. For  example, kids in Shenzhen like to go to the Donghu Park to play games with their classmates, like skipping(跳绳)and playing football. 

Japanese students often go hiking with their parents or classmates when the leaves are red and yellow. It is a perfect way to get exercise. Mountain climbing in nice weather is also a good choice. 

For most children in the US, biking is a good autumn activity. Take a mountain bike ride and you can find new roads. Playing in leaf piles(堆)is popular(流行的), too. Kids jump onto a leaf pile. They are happy to see the colourful leaves fly all around. They also make leaf rain. It's a lot of fun. 

In the UK, kids love to camp outside with their parents. They make food over the fire and tell ghost(鬼怪)stories. 

Wuxi City in eastern China's Jiangsu Province is known as the 'Home of the erhu" because it is the birthplace of many erhu masters.  Looking around Wuxi，you can often hear the beautiful sound of the erhu. The erhu was called the huqin at first, a musical instrument of ethnic(种族的)groups in northern China，and it dates more than a thousand years back to the Tang Dynasty. In modern times，with the development of operas, the huqin was renamed the erhu and it slowly spread throughout China. 

The erhu plays a leading role in many Chinese folk orchestras(管弦乐队)just as the violin does in Western orchestras. They are both made up of a body，a bridge，strings(弦)and a bow(弓). 

The performer usually holds the erhu straightly on the leg,▲and pressing the strings with his fingers, while drawing the bow with his right hand. As the bow runs against the strings and touches and shakes them, beautiful music comes. 

Not limited (限制)by just two strings，a good player can give the erhu amazing emotional expressions. It can present both soft, lovely songs and sad music. Sometimes it gives a human crying voice, and sometimes a great horse-running sound. 

Today, as a folk instrument, the erhu has been used more widely by communicating with Western musical instruments. In many international concerts, the erhu can be seen playing with different Western instruments, such as the piano，violin and guitar. This performance form not only adds new possibilities to music creation，but also brings richer enjoyment to the listeners. 

The next day, Peter came, feeling very angry at the changes. Heidi was always busy with the strange new child. All summer long Heidi hadn't played with him. And today she was coming at last. But again, she would come with this stranger.

Then, Peter saw the wheelchair. He carefully looked around. Then he pushed it down the mountain. He felt a little worried and afraid so he ran away and hid himself in a bush.

Just then, Heidi came out of the house. Her grandfather and Clara came next. Not seeing the wheelchair, Heidi's grandfather decided to carry Clara to the top. As he was getting ready, he wondered why Peter was late.

To their surprise, when they arrived at the top, they saw Peter lying on the ground.

Grandfather put Clara down on the grassland and then went home. The three stayed there. Heidi remembered the place with many flowers. She wanted to take Clara there. She called Peter to help. Peter went to Clara unwillingly. Heidi asked him to help raise Clara from the ground on one side. Heidi helped on the other.

With the encouragement of Heidi, Clara tried a step and soon another. "Oh, Heidi,I can do it! Oh, I really can! Just look! I can take steps!" she said happily.

Heidi cried happily, "Oh, Clara, can you really? Can you walk? Now you can walk, Clara,"

Peter arrived home late that day. He saw many people talking around the wheelchair. What if they found out the truth? A policeman might arrive. They might take him away to prison. Peter's hair stood on end at this thought.

The next morning, Peter admitted his mistake. Clara's family forgave him. What Peter had done turned out to be the greatest good for Clara.

I am Ashraf from Cairo, Egypt. Last summer, my cousin Sami came to Cairo for the first time. He is 28 and he lives in London. He is an architect(建筑师) and he was visiting Cairo for his job. 

 On the morning of his last day here, we went to Khan el-Khalili, It is a big market in the centre of Cairo. Hundreds of people come to the market every day. It is quieter in the morning than in the afternoon when lots of tourists visit it. 

 My dad is a taxi driver. He gave us a ride to the market. On the way, we saw many buildings. Sami liked them a lot. He said, "I like the buildings in London, but Cairo's buildings are more interesting. And the people here are friendly, too. But the streets are busier and noisier than those in London!"

 The things in the market are not too expensive. Sami bought a dress for his daughter and a toy violin for his son. We had lunch at a coffee house and Sami admired the food. He said it was both beautiful and tasty. While we were eating, we enjoyed some wonderful Egyptian music. A band was playing the violin and the drums. We also took a lot of photos. 

 Finally, it was time for Sami to go home. "Thank you for showing me around this beautiful city, " Sami said. "One day, I want to show you around my city!"
