You're in summer heat now, but in Australia some animals are feeling cold in winter and trying to get warm by bathing in the sun. A crocodile(鳄鱼) on the Ross River in Australia is just doing this with a turtle(乌龟) on his back. 

It seems the turtle is a friend of the crocodile. But in fact, the truth is that the crocodile feels    so cold that he gets out of the water, trying to get warm by bathing in the sun instead of wanting to eat other animals. 

Kana Wiblen, who lives in Townsville, Australia, found the 2-meter-long crocodile, known as Ross the Croe, with a turtle friend on his back. 

"We were just looking for some turtles when some other people in the area said that there was a crocodile nearby, so we went to have a look, " Mr Wiblen said. "When we found him, he had a turtle on his back, so I quickly took a photo before the turtle jumped off his back and went back in the water. "

"About five minutes after the turtle jumped in the water, we were about to leave when he came back up again, and with another turtle! They both sat next to each other on the back of the crocodile. I don't know why the turtle chose to ride on the back of a crocodile, but I'm sure that he was not afraid at all. Brave turtles, I must say, " he added. 

So what do you think of the amazing friendship between a turtle and a crocodile?

Both cats and dogs are popular pets (宠物). Most families, however, can keep only one pet. It can be hard to decide to take a cat or a dog into your home. Here, some middle school students are having a cats VS dogs debate (辩论). 

Group A: Donna Walker   We think cats are better for most families. Many people want to keep a pet, but they live a busy life. People don't have to take cats outside to use the bathroom. Instead, they just use a litter box. Their owners (主人) only need to keep the litter box clean. They don't need to worry if they are away at work for most of the day. 

Group B: Gary Hall   No, dogs are better. Just think about why you want to keep a pet. Dogs can bring you lots of happiness. When you go back home from school or work, your dog will always welcome you at the door with excitement. When you walk into your room, you may hardly expect your cat to be too excited about seeing you. What's the point in keeping such a pet?

Group A: Brian Ross   Well, cats usually live longer than dogs. Most cats can live up to 15 years while most dogs only have 13 years on the earth. Isn't it nice to be able to spend more time with your pet?

Group B: Annie Miller   But dogs are more loyal. A dog never leaves its owner no matter what happens. Dogs also keep you safe. If a bad man tries to break into your house, your dog will drive him away with loud barks (吠叫). 

Group A: Paula Lee   Yeah, dogs make so much noise! Some dogs bar k at almost every stranger, but are there so many bad men? Cats, however, are quiet most of the time. 

Group B: Eric Bell   Dogs can be trained well. Cats have claws (爪子) and they are interested in everything. They can cause much more trouble!

Colours can affect（影响）our feelings（感受），so knowing something about colours can help us find the right colours in our rooms.

It is easy to see red in Chinese rooms. It means happiness（幸福）. But if your bedroom is red, you may not sleep well. It's an active colour and makes us want to play sport.

Orange is a good choice（选择）for a dining room. People like having dinner and talking together in an orange room.

If you are a student，ask your parents to paint your study（书房）yellow. Yellow can help you think fast. You may be more confident（更自信的）.

You probably don't know that many of the walls of the rooms in the hospitals are blue. Why？Because blue can make sick（生病的）people feel quiet. They can have a good rest and become well soon. So use it    in your bedroom and you can have a good sleep.

Do you know bamboo(竹子)？ It's always green in a year and it is everywhere in Bali. There are 1，450 kinds of bamboo around the world， but we only use seven kinds of them to make things. We can use bamboo to make things like beds， desks and chairs. 

My father uses bamboo to build Green School in Bali. In Green School， all of the rooms are made of bamboo. There are a lot of bamboo things in the classrooms. Every classroom has a bamboo blackboard， some bamboo desks and bamboo chairs. 

But every classroom has no windows, doors or walls. It only has a bamboo roof ， and you can see it when you look up in the classroom. 

Green School is very nice. Its students are from 40 countries. They have maths， English, art and music classes. In their free time, all students grow fruit and vegetables around the school. And they also keep pigs, sheep, chickens and ducks. A lot of food comes from their hands.

Every new school year is a fresh start. What are you going to do differently and better? When you are ready, keep in mind the following:

{#blank#}1{#/blank#} When you miss a day, or even a class, it's easy to fall behind. The best way to stay with the development of the class is to be there! If you have to miss a class, make sure you meet with your teacher to find out what you missed. Also, listen carefully and take notes in class. Don't write down everything, just the main points.

Ask questions. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Believe it or not, most teachers want you to learn and they are always there to help you. If you aren't comfortable asking questions in front of the class, go to talk to the teacher after class.

Take your homework seriously. Like it or not, homework is a necessary part of school. There's not much you can do to get around it. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} If possible, you can find a study partner and do homework with him or her.

Try new things and get new friends. Try a new sport, something you think you will be good at. If sports aren't your thing, try joining a club. Keep your old friends, but get some new ones at the same time. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}

Remember, it's up to you to decide what kind of school year you're going to have. Make full use of it while you can!
