A scientist named Charles had a strange idea. He wanted to invent a new kind of car which could go without a driver. It could also be used as a living room. That means you can go anywhere on your sofa in the car. You might say that it's impossible. But Charles succeeded in making it in a factory and named it Tridika.

Tridika has no wheels and it starts working when it reaches the magnetic levitation tracks(磁悬浮轨道). It takes its energy from the tracks. And it works in the same way as a magnetic train. It moves very fast. As everyone knows, cities are developing rapidly. There are more and more cars running on the road. So parking space is limited. Sometimes it's hard to find a place to park(停车). Tridika can solve this problem easily because it needn't park on the ground. Actually, it can part on the outside wall of the building with the help of an elevator system(电梯系统). In this way, much parking space can be saved. When Tridika parks itself in front of your apartment, you can get into your room directly. Of course, there must be a side door in the outside wall. Then Tridika becomes another living room. It's really amazing, isn't it?

Our nearest neighbor is the moon. In the sky, the moon and the sun seem to be of the same size because the moon is much nearer.

The moon makes the tides(潮汐)— the changes in the level of the sea. The moon and the sun together pull the sea. In some parts of the world, the difference between" high tide"( when the sea is very near the land) and" low tide"( when the sea is far away from the land) is very big. This is very important for ships.

The moon is very different from the earth. Gravity(重力) on the moon is six times weaker than that on the earth. There isn't any air. During the day, it is very very hot but at night it is very very cold. Nothing can live on the moon.

If the moon goes between the earth and the sun, we have an eclipse of the sun(日食). The moon stops the light from the sun and we have night in the day.

If the earth goes between the moon and the sun, we have an eclipse of the moon. The moon goes into the shadow(影子) of the earth and it disappears(消失) for a few minutes.

Shanbei storytelling is an important 1 of storytelling and folk art in the northwest of China. It is mainly popular in areas like Yanan and Yulin in northern Shanxi Province. It originated as a way for blind artists to 2 by singing traditional stories. Over time, it absorbed(吸收) the tunes of Qingqiang Opera and Xintianyou, and 3 became alform of storytelling that could be performed with long stories and singing. The performance is done by one person who sings and plays an instrument at the same time. The instrument can be sanxian (a three-stringed Chinese instrument) or pipa. Besides, there is also a clapper(快板) made of two wooden boards tied to the performer's legs 4 the rhythm(节奏). 

 One person who has made Shanbei Storytelling 5 is Xiong Zhuying. He has cleverly6 this traditional art with modern technology and games. In the video game"Black Myth: Wukong, " game developers invited Xiong to introduce elements (元素) of Shanbei Storytelling, making it interesting and enjoyable to younger audiences who might not experience this traditional art form before. 

 In the second chapter of the game, players will meet a headless monk(僧侣) who performs a heartfelt piece of Shanbei music. This brief but 7 performance, lasting less than two minutes, has gained over 10 million views on social media. Its lyrics(歌词), "Success and failure, life and death, all are beyond reason, "8 deep emotions and make listeners think a lot. Xiong and the game developers'9 brings Shanbei Storytelling back to life, making its future 10 than ever before. 

Clothes Donation (捐赠) Box

Did you put your old clothes into the donation box in your neighborhood? If not, you can do it right now because the clothes donation is becoming more and more popular. 

"From time to time, my mother clears out the clothes which I no longer wear. You know, we teenagers are growing fast. I think it's a good way to help others," Lin Tao, a junior student says. 

"I often pick out some of my clothes which are out of style after going shopping. Then I'll put them into the donation box," Miss Li, a pretty young lady says. 

"That seems like a good idea. Some clothes in the box are quite new. People can either wear them or use them to make things such as handbags and pencil boxes." Mrs. Wang, an old woman says, "Sometimes I also look through the box for some nice clothes." 

However, there are some problems along with the popularity of clothes donation. Recently, a UTV reporter from Focus on the City has made a survey. Here are the results: 

◆ The box is full of clothes in a short time. There is no more room for people to give away clothes. 

◆ Some people sell the clothes in the donation box for making money instead of wearing them. 

◆ Some communities set the box in unsuitable places. So there are few clothes in it. 

◆ Many clothes are too old and shabby (破烂的). 

"What's worse," one of the staff in a community added, "we quite often see people throw rubbish into the box when they pass by. We've tried to stop them several times but failed. It has been the most serious problem since we set the box." 

In order to make the donation box work in an efficient (有效的) way, our government is taking action. Clothes donation will be better-organized and it'll be more convenient for people in need to take the clothes away.
