I love bedtime stories. I can never fall asleep without having my bedtime stories. Every day, I can have two stories, one in English and one in Japanese.My mom's first language is Japanese and my dad's first language is English.Usually, Dad reads an English story to me first. Then it's Mom's turn to read me a Japanese story. In my family, though both my parents can speak the two languages very well, we speak English more often than Japanese, so I find listening to Japanese stories challenging. I ask many questions when Mom reads Japanese stories to me.

Mom is not very happy about my Japanese and she is thinking about sending me to a Sunday school to learn Japanese. I don't want to get too busy on Sunday. I need some playtime, so I tell Mom that I will read more Japanese books on weekdays. Mom agrees with me.

Lake Baikal (贝加尔湖)  is the largest,  deepest freshwater lake in the world.Every winter when the lake freezes over (冻结)  for half the year, 80 -year- old Lyubov skates across the ice wherever she needs to go.

Lyubov has been using the ice to travel around her home for her whole life.As a child, she skated about 2.5 miles each way to school and back.She once fell through the ice and was luckily saved by her classmates.

Lyubov lives alone now in a small house on the bank of Lake Baikal.Her children and five grandchildren don't often visit her because they live five hours away by car.She has to look on a group of dogs, cows and chickens as her friends.Luckily, she has the ice to help her feel free！"For me, ice means being able to go everywhere," the grandmother said.

Every day, she skates half an hour to other villages to do her shopping.With temperatures often reaching -40 ℃  , it' s hard for an old woman to live a normal life.But Lyubov says that her everyday skating enables her to live a long and energetic life. " People keep telling me 1 should slow down, but I just can't , " she said with a smile." I don't have time to be bored; there' s too much work to do."

A little stream ran down from a high mountain far, far away through many villages and forests, until she reached a desert (沙漠). The stream then thought, "I've been through thousands of millions of difficulties. I should have no problems crossing this desert!" But as she started her journey, she found herself slowly disappearing into the sand. After many tries, she still failed and was very unhappy. "Maybe I can't reach the ocean in the end." she said sadly to herself.

At this time, a deep voice came, "If a breeze (微风) can cross the desert, so can a stream." It was the voice of the desert. But the little stream replied, "That's because a breeze can fly, but I cannot." "That's because you can't give up what you are. If you like to do it, let yourself evaporate (蒸发) into the breeze. It can take you across, and you can reach the ocean." said the desert.

"Give up what I am now and disappear into the breeze? No! No!" The little stream could not accept this idea. After all, she had never experienced anything like it before.

"The breeze can carry the vapor (蒸气) across the desert and let it leave as rain. The rain will form a stream again to continue its course." explained the desert very patiently.

"And whether you're a stream or vapor, your nature never changes." continued the desert. Hearing this, the little stream rushed into the open arms of the breeze, which carried her to the next stage of her life.

The course of our lives is like the experience of the little stream. If you want to overcome the difficulties in your life to get success, you should also change the way you used to be.

 Hello! My name is Wu Bo. I am a student in Guangming School. My school days are busy, but I am happy.

 Every school day, I get up at 6:30 a. m. I do some washing, have breakfast and then go to school at 7:20. I usually go to school on foot because I live near the school. We raise the national flag on Monday morning. We learn Chinese, English, math, science and many other subjects at school. My favourite subject is Chinese. We have six Chinese classes every week. Our Chinese teacher is Miss Lin. She is beautiful and friendly. She makes her classes interesting and we learn a lot.

 There are many interesting after-school activities. We can join clubs and play sports. I like dancing so I am in the dancing club. I dance three times a week. I also love sports. After school, I often play football with my best friend Zhang Peng on the sports field and I sometimes run with my teacher and classmates.

I am a nice boy and I am good with my teachers and classmates. I think my school life is fun   and colourful. I love my school days.
