You might think all penguins(企鹅) live somewhere {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(real) cold like Antarctica(南极洲), but it is not true for Felix. This 14yearold penguin not only lives in Africa, but is also a lovely pet in a family.

Felix's way to becoming a pet began about ten {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (year) ago, after he was caught in a fisherman's net by mistake. He was too weak to swim away. Later, he was saved and taken back home by a family. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} their help, he soon became {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(health) again. However, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} they tried to return him to the water, Felix refused to leave, so the family {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(decide) to keep him instead. They even prepared a large room with airconditioning(空调) for him.

Another thing Felix likes {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(much) than his cool and comfortable room is his daily shopping trip to town. His first and only stop is at the local fish store. There he buys two fish and puts {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(they) in his special backpack(背包), because he enjoys {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(eat) fish. He is now {#blank#}10{#/blank#} popular that he becomes an animal star.

About three years ago, I didn't like my classmates, my parents or anyone. My classmates didn't want {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(talk) with me and my parents were always saying that other kids were {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(good) than me. I thought I was the most unlucky person in the world.

But now, I can't often see my best friend {#blank#}9{#/blank#} he is ill and is staying in hospital. I always remember (想起) the time when we spent together. How I miss him! I hope he {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(be) all right and come back to school soon. 

Most people nowadays wear sneakers (跑鞋), leather shoes or boots. But in ancient China, many people made{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (they) own cloth shoes.

Tangchang,{#blank#}2{#/blank#}town in Sichuan province with 700 years of shoe-making history, is known{#blank#}3{#/blank#} its cloth shoes. Tangchang cloth shoes are comfortable and they don't get wet{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (easy).

Tangchang cloth shoes{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (be) popular in China in 1980s. According to China Daily, there were five Tangchang cloth shoe factories in Chengdu alone. In 2018, Tangchang cloth shoes were added to Sichuan's intangible cultural heritage (非物质文化遗产) list. Cloth shoes always look nice,{#blank#}6{#/blank#} making cloth shoes is not easy. Growing up in Tangchang, Lai Shufang, 66, is a master of making cloth shoes and has been making them for over forty{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (year). The job is much{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (difficult) than before, and sneakers become more popular. Many factories producing Tangchang cloth shoes were shut down. The last one, where Lai worked, shut down in 1998.

{#blank#}9{#/blank#} (making) a living and help the cultural heritage survive, Lai and her co-workers continued to make cloth shoes and sold them in her store. Then, Shu embroidery (蜀绣){#blank#}10{#/blank#} (add) to the shoes by Lai's son, Ai Peng. They now sell out about 10,000 pairs of shoes each year.
