Today, I felt bad after dinner. So I went out and took a walk in the street at 7:00 pm. While I was walking, I saw an old man selling vegetables. He looked very tired and nobody was buying his vegetables. I wanted to give him something but I brought nothing with me.

Then, a little girl went to him and said,"Excuse me, may I polish(擦亮) your shoes? I need money to buy a new school uniform (校服)."The old man answered,"Oh! Come with me and I will buy you a school uniform." Then they walked to a shop and he bought her a school uniform. The girl thanked him and left happily, leaving the old man smiling.

The old man walked away from the shop, but then I stopped him. I said, "You make the best day of my life. Thank you for your kindness!"As I walked away, I looked back and I could see him still smiling. I felt better and walked home.

Many stories happened at the Children's Medical Care Center. These stories deeply touched us. We saw a lot of children without hair because they got special treatment（治疗）.We played with them and drew pictures with them.They had great pains, but they were very friendly. It was much easier to talk with them than we had expected.

One day, a girl wanted toteach us how to fold paper.She taught us with great patience（耐心）and explained each step slowly.Though we could do that well，we still pretended（假装）to know nothing about it. We followed her step by step and did as she told us. Finaly,when we completed our work perfectly,she gave us a big hug．We could see the pride and happinss on her face．（A）她的父亲对我们十分感激。And his eyes were full of tears. Until then，we knew that the girl would receive an operation（手术）the next day.

It was really a valuable experience to all of us. We began to think about the ways to deal with the difficulties in life. （B）When we compare our "troubles"with those kids'. ours seem not worth mentioning at all.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson were having a cup of tea at five, as they usually did, when the doorbell rang. 

"That {#blank#}1{#/blank#} be Mrs Brown. I was expecting her this evening, " said Sherlock Holmes. 

"No, it {#blank#}2{#/blank#} be her. She called this morning while you were out to say she would not be able to make it this evening. She also said she{#blank#}3{#/blank#} come tomorrow evening, but she would call again anyway to confirm (确认) it, " replied Dr Watson. 

"Well, that's very strange, my dear Watson. Mrs Brown {#blank#}4{#/blank#} have called this morning because I was with her all day till we parted for lunch. It {#blank#}5{#/blank#} have been someone else pretending (假装) it was her, " said Sherlock Holmes. 

"But why? Do you think something{#blank#}6{#/blank#} have happened to the real Mrs Brown?" replied Dr Watson in a fearful tone(语气). 

The doorbell rang again. 

"Well, my dear Watson, the answer{#blank#}7{#/blank#} be waiting at the door right now. You'd better go and see, but I'm afraid it is not Mrs Brown. It {#blank#}8{#/blank#} be the person who called this morning. So be {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(care), " said Sherlock Holmes.

My school day

Hi! I'm Alex Greenall. I'm thirteen and I go to Park School in Oxford, England. I go to school on weekdays, but not on Saturday and Sunday. This is my school day. I get up at 7:30 in the morning, and then have breakfast. 

My school is next to my house. I go to school at 8:30 and see my friends. We start work at 9:00. We have three lessons in the morning. My favourite subject is art. At 11:00, we have a break in the playground and I talk to my friends. They go to the playground and play football, but I don't like football. 

We have lunch in the dining hall at 12:30. Ilike school lunch! We have meat and rice with vegetables, or hamburgers. I drink juice or water. 

We start lessons in the afternoon at 1:30. We have two lessons in the afternoon. Then we go home at 3:30.

In the evening. I watch TV and have dinner with my family. I do my homework and go to bed at 10:00.

 One day in class, the teacher stood at the front of the class. She held up a (an) 1 and said, "Please smell the smell in the air!"

 One student 2 his hand and said, "I can smell it. It is the smell of an apple."

 The teacher passed by each of the 3 and said, "Smell again to see if the smell of the apple is still in the air."

 The teacher went back to the 4 of the classroom and asked again if the students could smell the apple. Everyone raised their hand except(除了) one little  girl. The teacher came to the girl and asked, "You really can't smell the apple? Half of the students raised their hands to 5 that they could smell it.

 The girl answered, "No,I can't smell it. I don't think it's a 6 apple."

 The teacher smiled at the girl and said 7 to the class, "She is right! This is not a real apple."

 All of the other students'8 were wide (很大地) open. They also might have thought that the apple was not real, but they didn't have the self-confidence(自信) to 9 . They just followed(跟随) the first student 10 thinking.

 So don't feel afraid to say out your ideas.
