Think about the colors of fruit and vegetables: the red of tomatoes, the orange of carrots, and the purple of grapes.

You can eat fruit and vegetables of all colors—green, yellow, blue, purple and white. Each color is important to our health. These colors work together for our bodies.

Red gives us a healthy heart. Red helps improve our memory (记忆力). Yellow is good for our eyes. White can reduce (降低) cholesterol. Green is good for our eyes, too. It also gives us strong bones and teeth. Blue helps us keep a good memory as we grow old. It also helps our heart. So when you are buying or eating fruit and vegetables, remember to try fruit and vegetables of different colors.

When it comes to letting children do housework, there are some different ideas.

Many parents don't let their kids do housework. They just let the kids be kids to enjoy plenty of playtime while they're still young. Others may let the kids finish the housework as quickly as possible. There are many important reasons why children should help out around the house.

They're young now, but they won't be kids all the time! Washing clothes and cooking are just some of the skills that kids will need when they finally move out. These are also things that schools do not fully teach, so learning them at home is even more important.

Children can become an understanding member of a team through housework. Members of the "family team" should help each other, so the idea of sharing and fairness is very important. It also helps kids know about the spirit of teamwork (团队合作) and put it into use at school or at work. Learn these lessons at home, and it helps the family members get closer to each other.

Everyone knows a power nap(小睡) feels good. If power naps fit right into your normal sleep/ wake cycle(周期), they can really help you get through the day.

Our bodies have a timekeeper called the circadian rhythm(昼夜节律). It helps you fall asleep, wake up, and feel more or less tired throughout the day. It also changes during the day, as shown in the picture below.

As we can see, the circadian rhythm is low between 2:00 and 4:00 pm. To improve your attention, productivity and memory, a power nap may be the answer.

In studies, a 10- minute afternoon nap is the best in improving your energy. And, it makes sense to nap around 2:00 pm.

Besides the length and the timing, there are other ways to have power naps:

●Try deep- breathing as you start.

●Choose a quiet, darkened place. A sleep mask may help.

●Lie down or sit in a comfortable chair.

●Listen to soft music.

●Give yourself a few minutes to refresh after your nap. Try a bit of stretching(伸展) and walking around.

What would life be like if you were a rocker, a soccer player, a professor(教授）at Stanford University, and a Nobel Prize winner? Carolyn Bertozzi from the US lives such a cool life!

Bertozzi, 56, wins this year's Nobel Prize in chemistry and becomes this year's only female(女性) winner in science and the eighth female to receive the chemistry prize in history.

Bertozzi won the prize for studying the sugar coats of cells(细胞）. She has found a smart way to connect cells together. This finding helps to develop better tests for serious diseases like cancer.

However, Bertozzi said she only fell in love with chemistry until her second year at Harvard University."Most of my classmates thought the class was very difficult. But I liked it a lot because in my eyes the problems were challenging even though it usually took me long hours to solve them."

Besides doing science studies, Bertozzi has lived a colorful life. She was a keyboarder in a rock band and she also played soccer, winning an athletic scholarship from Harvard.

Moreover, Bertozzi never forgets her job as a female scientist. "In the late 1980s, only 10 percent of the students were females," she told Chemical & Engineering News. "There were maybe only one or two females in a lab, so we tried to support each other by starting a monthly get-together. Now, I'm so glad to see more and more females taking part in science." In 2022, Bertozzi won an award from the American Association for the Advancement of Science for her work to increase diversity(性别多元）in science.

My sister Lily likes love movies. She always watches them. Her favorite movie is The Twilight. I never watch love movies. I think they are boring. I like action movies best. They are exciting. Mom likes music programs. The band she likes best is the Jonas Brothers. I like it, too. I watch talent shows with mom every Friday. Dad only watches the news. He says it's very relaxing. He doesn't like other programs. My brother Bob likes western movies best. He thinks cowboys (牛仔) and horses are wonderful.

My mother's favorite TV program is Nature News. She always watches it and she sometimes asks me to watch nature programs with her, but I think they are boring. My father watches a football game on TV at 7:00 p.m. every Wednesday. I don't like it, but my father likes it very much. He also likes the news. My sister Tina's favorite program is a game show. She thinks it's fun and she watches it every Saturday. I like cartoons best. I find them very interesting.

 For most people, the summer vacation is happy and has a lot of fun. But some may feel anxious(焦虑的) when they don't have a good plan for it. What should we do to make our vacation colorful(丰富多彩的)? Here are some useful tips:

★At the beginning of the vacation, give yourself a day or two to rest and adjust(调整). After this, you should make a plan for the rest of the vacation. You'd better ask your parents for advice if necessary. You can also keep your life in order(井然有序) by writing a daily or weekly to-do list. 

★____ So set some time on your list to take some exercise. For example, you can go out fora walk in the park or go swimming in the pool on a hot day. 

★There may be many activities during the holiday. You can pick some of them if you have interest. But it's also OK to say no sometimes. The summer vacation is your time off, after all. 

★During the weeks of your final exams, you may be too busy to have fun. So, treat(对待) yourself well during the vacation. Read an interesting book, watch your favorite movie, or eat some delicious food. You deserve(应得) the best!
