Hello, I'm Jim. I'm a student in No. 2 Middle School. Today is Saturday. I can stay in bed late. Usually I get up at six on weekdays, but at eight on weekends. Then I take a shower, brush my teeth and wash my face. At half past eight, I have breakfast. I often eat bread and eggs and drink a glass of milk. They are healthy food. I don't like hamburgers or noodles.

Then, I go to the park and do sports. I play basketball with my brother. He can play it well. After that, I go back home with my brother, and we watch TV together. I have lunch with my brother in a dining hall at half past eleven, because my parents don't come back home from work on weekends. And then I do my homework on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Sometimes I go out with my brother. I like drawing pictures on Sunday afternoon in the open air with my brother. It's good to enjoy nature(自然).

On Sunday evening, I always take a walk after supper with my brother. That's very cool. I enjoy the beautiful night streets. Finally, I go to bed at around a quarter to ten.

"Tom? Are you in bed yet?" called Mrs White. There was no answer. Mrs White put down her book and went to her 14-year-old sons room. Tom was sitting in front of a bright computer screen on which a motorbike was running fast.

"Oh, Tom. You're still playing that computer game. You must stop now, because it's half past eleven. If you don't go to bed at once, you'll be very tired tomorrow." said Mrs White.

"But I've nearly won the game." Tom said to Mrs White. She could see the excitement on his face. she sat beside him and said, "You're always playing on the computer. You spend more time on this machine than on your homework."

Today more and more families have computers. Parents hope computers can help their children improve their study at school. But many of their children use computers to play games, listen to songs and watch videos instead of studying. We often see that net bars are crowded with people, especially young boys. They spend a lot of time and money competing(竞争) with the computerized(用计算机控制的) machines. The more they lose, the more they want to win. The result is that they don't want to work or study.

In some countries, even scientists hate computers. They say computers cause millions of bring them a lot of trouble. Computer game addiction(瘾) is a serious problem in social life. Something should be done to solve the problem.

Peppa is a little pig. Many people know her name because they can see her on TV. Peppa has a big family. Her three family photos are on her desk. In the first photo, you can see Peppa's father, mother and little brother George. What about the next photo? Peppa's grandparents are in it. Who are in the last photo? Her uncle's family. Uncle Pig, Aunt Pig, their daughter Choel and their son Alexander.

December 3rd, 2023 marked the second anniversary (周年纪念日) of China- Laos Railway Line. The 1,035- kilometr e China- Laos Railway runs from Kunming in Southwest China's Yunnan Province to Vientiane, the capital of Laos. When it was open to traffic on December 3rd, 2021, people from Yunnan and Laos were very excited. It takes about 10 hours to get to Vientiane from Kunming. The railway line, with speeds (速度) reaching up to 200 kilometres per hour, has 50 stations. It has become the best choice for people to travel in China and Laos because of shorter travel time, according to China Railway International. 

24- year- old Yi Bofeng comes from Xishuangbanna, Yunnan. She was a college student in Kunming from 2018 to 2020. "The journey from my home to my college was rough. It often took me two days by bus. But now the trip takes about six hours by train and is much more comfortable. People in my home town travel to Kunming much more often than before," she says. 

The railway line has also benefited (使受益) people from Laos. 52- year- old Phetsamone is a businessman in Vientiane. He buys mobile phones and automobile parts in Kunming and sells them in Vientiane. He says, "Before 2022, I drove a truck (卡车) to Kunming. The journey was too long and it was very expensive. Now I take the train. It saves more time and money." It is also easier for him to travel in Laos as well. 

Next time if you go to visit Kunming, maybe you can take the train to Laos. 

"Sha Tou" won the first gold medal in the Olympic table tennis events

At the table tennis mixed doubles final of this Paris Olympic Games, Chinese pair Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha, the "Sha Tou" combination, beat the North Korean team with a score of 4 to 2. It is China's first Olympic gold medal in the table tennis mixed doubles, and also the first gold medal in the table tennis events of these Paris Olympics.Having won almost every major prize together, including two mixed doubles world championship titles in 2021 and 2023, Wang and Sun expected their first Olympic gold together as a special one, particularly following Team China's final loss to host Japan in the mixed event's Olympic debut (首次登台) in Tokyo in 2021.

Black Myth: Wukong: the cultural meaning and global influence

    The Chinese game Black Myth: Wukong was put into the market on Tuesday. Within just a few hours of its launch, it topped the best-selling list in 29 countries and regions on the Internet, with more than 11 million online players at the same time. The game's presentation of Chinese culture has not only impressed Chinese players but also attracted a large number of foreign players. As a result, many International gamers are now reading the original book Journey to the West as a "required course" before experiencing the game.

Self-driving cars, commonly called robotaxis, are being used at lower prices in Wuhan. It has ambitions(雄心) to become the world's first driverless city.

 "You'll never have to buy a car," a passenger inside one of the white robotaxi said in a video that has been watched over 80 million times on Weibo since last week. 

But the rapid development of the driverless taxis has rattled (-to make someone feel nervous or angry.)And there have also been complaints about traffic jams(交通堵塞).

Recently, a video game named Black Myth: Wukong has been a great hit all over the world. Black Myth is China's first AAA video game. Why is it so popular? It is because of the Chinese culture inside it.

Wukong is a main character from Journey to the West, a Chinese classic god-evil novel written 500 years ago. "Chinese god-evil stories are fantastic themselves. No one would dislike them once they start to learn about them. And my game just opens a window." Said Feng Ji, the game's producer. For this reason, although players from other countries were not fans of Chinese culture, they are now "hard-working" on every detail（细节）of the novel. For almost the first time, the world tries actively to understand Chinese culture.

The beautiful scenes（风景）in the game are also attractive. Among the 36 places that appear in the game, 27 are real in Shanxi Province. Take the Hanging Temple for example. It was built nearly 1,600 years ago and truly hangs on a steep cliff（峭壁）. Players are amazed when they realize it is a true attraction.

An American player said, "China is rich in culture and stories. I hope we can get more like this. I would love to go to China some day."
